I always take elderberry syrup for the duration of a cold and zinc tablets for the first few days when I feel it coming on (since studies show it works best right at the start). It helps my immune system fight it off, so it reduces how bad I feel and how long it lasts. My sister wanted to try too, but she has trouble swallowing tablets, so I got this syrup for her. She's an adult, but it's the only liquid I found that didn't have ridiculously high levels of zinc (more isn't always better, and zinc can have side effects at very high doses) and was from a brand I know and trust, so I can be more assured of the product quality. Last time I felt a cold coming, I took the recommended adult dose of this (2 tsps 2-3 times daily) for the first three days and then my own elderberry syrup for two more days. It never got past a runny nose. She and I will keep using it, but I like how easy the dosing is without counting out drops, and the taste is actually good--just a sweet berry syrup flavor, no aftertaste or burny sweetness like glycerin sometimes has. I don't think kids would have any issue with it. The size will last us for a couple flu seasons too, so not a bad price all in all.

We have issues all year long with coughing and breathing problems. We struggle with various allergies all year: hay fever & pollen allergies, animal dander allergies (we have 4 cats & 2 dogs) and dust allergies. We have issues with asthma and dyspnea. And in the winter we use forced hot air for heating. All these things create coughing and breathing issues. This winter, upon the suggestion of a friend, we tried using Elderberry Tea and syrup for coughing problems and were amazed at how efficiently and quickly it worked to completely alleviate the coughing!! Because it worked so well for allergy coughs, I tried it during a minor asthma attack to see if it would help me enough that I wouldn't need my emergency inhaler and to my surprise it did work!! For a full blown asthma attack I still use the inhaler but the elderberry syrup helps me not need the inhaler as often! So we started using the Elderberry when we started up our winter heating and it works wonders to keep our lungs and airways open and working well! I don't always take the time to do these reviews but we have been so amazed at how well the Elderberry works that I had to share!! My sister takes a teaspoon of the syrup straight when she feels the coughing coming on and it works immediately. I have more allergy and asthma issues so I use it more often so what I do is I heat up a coffee mug of water and put a good size teaspoon of syrup in the hot water and put it in my mug size Yeti and sip it like I would tea. Between the heat and the Elderberry it is so soothing and works so well! I started out making Elderberry Tea using dried berries and honey, but using this syrup is so much easier and works equally as well so I opt for the convenience! The winter before this last one, my sister struggled terribly with her cough. No exaggeration, it was a nightmare! What a difference this syrup made this past winter! It truly was a Godsend! We will always have Elderberry on hand from now on!!

I’ve been giving this supplement to my 2 boys for the last year or so and they have not been sick since then. Before they used to get sick all the time, always stuffy and with a cold. Not any more. This has been a life savior and I’m not worry about them being exposed to the cold air because I know their immune system is strong enough.

My daughter isn't a huge fan but I think the flavor is great. Either way, it's easy to swallow and we both take it daily. Greta value for the money and plan to buy again.

I give it to my 4 year old everyday and (knock on wood) has only brought a runny nose in the home from school so far!

Have used this medicine and a couple slightly different varieties of it from NOW, and absolutely in awe and floored at the quality and effectiveness of this medicine. Consistent across a dozen different uses and to a half dozen different people

Great value on this product! Was already buying another brand through Amazon but it was more expensive. This is just the same but at a much lower price. Really happy with it and my kids can't tell any difference between the two. Will continue to purchase this one - wish it had the subscribe and save option.

Taste like sugar syrup. Useless to help early signs of illness.
