Job well done!
Very happy with this setup! I had tried one of the lumber makers from another manufacturer before hand (the kind that is supposed to slide on a 2x6 and clamps to the bar) and it pretty much sucked. I was kinda skeptical of this since my first attempt went down in flames after about 30 seconds of use. I have to say, this thing is pretty awesome! It's pretty straight forward in design and fool proof. There are no real "directions" for assembly, but there's only like 12 pieces and a hand full of nuts and bolts. If you can't figure out assembly... Well you might think twice before using a chainsaw since it's probably the most dangerous power tool on the planet. Don't guess on the torque specs either. If you don't have a 3/8" torque wrench, spend the few extra bucks and buy one on here. The frame is nearly entirely aluminum, so you don't wanna over tighten the bolts and start bending and breaking stuff. Overall this thing cuts straight and smooth. I cut a few slabs of black walnut the first day out and had a stupid grin on my face the whole time because I was so impressed with it! I bought and used a ripping chain for mine, so I can NOT comment on how well it cuts without one. I will tell you that, with the ripping chain, it's a smoother cut than rough cut lumber from a saw mill! I can tell that I'm gonna get money's worth out of this! Thanks for the quality product Granberg! Also, I must add, if you have any ingenuity about your wits, fabrication of longer/shorter spreader rails should be fairly easy. Just saying, there are only 3 different pieces on each model according to the size ordered, and those are the bars and pipe that act kinda like the "frame rails". So, with a little gumption, this could easily become whatever size lumber maker you'd like! I'm sure the manufacturer would HIGHLY recommend against this though! ;)

My son loves this product and has more boards than he needs, I would suggest you get a rip blade for your saw.

NO RAILS AS ADVERTISED
I bought this item believing that it was a self contained saw mill as the advertisement states (with 24" rails). I didn't get what I paid for; no rails whatsoever!!! A real rip off. I tried calling Aardvark Trading who has this item listed on Amazon and the person who answered the phone said that there was no such company at that number. He verified that I had dialed the correct number and that he was at the address listed on the Amazon listing. After a few minutes on hold he transferred me to the "Amazon Desk". It rang several times and then went to a BS recording telling me to leave my name and number and they'd get right back to me. That was several days ago. This is the definition of interstate FRAUD. I intend to follow this up through the BBB and Federal Trade Commission.
