4BZ Dark Bronze Brown - rich, soft, silky, non-brassy, long lasting
4BZ Dark Bronze Brown turned my naturally brown (with growing out blonde highlights, and some gray along hairline) a nice rich, non-brassy shade of dark brown after a few weeks. Right after coloring, the highlighted parts of my hair were VERY dark - almost black. I should have applied to graying areas for the entire 20 minutes and only done the ends for the last 5-10 minutes to avoid that, probably. But it worked out and I really like it after a few weeks. My grays have remained colored after 6 weeks and I don't feel the need to color again for a while. I was looking to mask the grays around my face and blend the old highlights - it did that and I am very happy with the results. Also, my hair is very soft and silkier than it was before I used this. I have used lighter shades of this brand before that did make my hair look brassy, so I think for me the key is not trying to go lighter.

Covers my solid white
Covers solid white nicely. You can see in one photo very gray wild hair, another where white hair frames my face. The orange sweatshirt is immediately after coloring and black shirt photo was taken a week and a half post-coloring. Two boxes of color every 3-4 weeks and the job is done. The color I use most often is Brown #5 and does a great job covering the white if the color solution is left on long enough… I have a lot of hair and one box just wasn’t cutting it.Gray came early for me and white soon followed… at 53 years old I just got tired of the white and needed a change. Sooooo… 35 minutes on the roots for box 1 and then the second box on the remainder of my hair for another 15 minutes. Done. When I followed the advised time on the box, my hair ended up very red… that’s always been how my hair holds color… red first. So I leave in much longer and it works perfectly ending up with a rich brown. The color does take a couple of washes before it looks just right to me but I get a lot of compliments from those who know me and also from those who don’t know my hair is actually white.Aside from adding extra time, the directions are simple. Put the gloves on and mix one bottle into the other bottle, give it a shake apply it to the roots first. Set your timer. It can be messy so watch out for that. Be sure to have towels at the ready for cleanup. Sometimes I use a Q-tip and put color on my eyebrows but I don’t always love the results. What I do love is that overall the process is easy and straightforward. The color treatment and conditioner give me shiny healthy hair and it smells nice. I like that it fades a little over the 3 weeks and doesn’t have a hard line where the new growth is. The color never fades all the way on the full length of my hair it just lightens. This option is much better than my friends and colleagues who pay a ton of money to get their “hair did” at the salon and have a white skunk stripe down their part while waiting for next appointment… waaaaay cheaper, better coverage, and more available, as in Amazon delivers and it’s easy peasy salon hour at my kitchen sink.Note that the color still saturates differently throughout the hair because of the different shades of gray and white that is applied to. So there’s still a natural depth in the color.Lessons learned: if you’re experimenting with leaving the color on longer, the main thing is each time write down or keep track of how long you leave the color on the roots plus then the extra time on the rest of your hair… It has never harmed my hair to leave it on longer, but since I want the roots to be darker than the rest of my hair I just experiment a little bit. So try until you get the time right. When you’re doing a touchup on your roots, you definitely still want to put some through your hair at the very end of the time…don’t skip that even if it is just 5 min. If you don’t, the rest of your hair will be dull and lackluster. And during root touch-ups you definitely also do not want to leave the color on alllll of your hair the whole time that you have it on the roots. It will get super super dark, and the roots will be lighter where the color has only been once… unless that’s what you want.I’m not sure how it’s possible with two boxes of color, but I always find a way to miss a few random strands of silver.Watch the forehead and temple hairline color also and it will help the results look more natural.I keep experimenting/adjusting the time (mostly because I’m impatient) and am very very happy with the color every time.

Best affordable non-damaging hair color
I’ve been using this hair dye for close to four years now? I really love how it does not make my hair dry or brittle or damage it. I also really love how it fades due to it being semi permanent so it’s very easy to reapply. I don’t have to worry about a line of demarcation.

Love it for my grays.
Been using for 4 years to cover my grays. 40% gray. I thought I discovered this solution LOL. I use one box 5C for roots 30 mins. 20 min eyebrows - got so whites there too. . I have a lot of hair so there isn't enough left in the bottle. So I add conditioner to make enough to cover the rest of my hair for the last 5 min. I hate the stripe. Do every 7 to 12 days. Use a full second box for last 5 min once a month. Works great. (I tried lighter shades. Didnt cover as well. Had blondes and reds in my roots. Prefer dark roots. 5C is my fav.)

I love it
Only bran I use to color my hair that doesn’t give me a rash or allergic reaction. I love this hair color. I even got complements that this looks natural to my own hair color.

Great price
I wanted a dye that has natural ingredients. So I bought this. Keeps the Grey's out my hair for about 8 weeks. I have thin hair. I couldn't find them cheaper so I bought this here.

Not impressed - Bangs always appear " striped" looking . A lot of Brassy tones on the top .
I've been using this hair color for 1 1/2 years , I switched from my permanent hair color to this organic / plant-based color in hopes of making, or helping, my hair to be healthier and also to get away from the harsh chemicals in permanent hair color. Overall after 1 1/2 years of use (use it every 4 weeks so once a month ) I am not impressed. I have fine hair and experiencing thinning due to menopause- hence- wanting my hair to be as healthy as possible. This product does not produce even or full coverage and the top of my hair is ALWAYS " brassy" looking ( a goldish color ) even though the box says otherwise. This product just doesn't seem powerful enough to completely darken your hair. I use the 5C color for dark brown hair, my natural color is dark brown- not trying to do any fancy color job here just want to continue being a brunette. Also, my bangs are always streaky and / or striped in appearance; this color just doesn't cover up everything even if you leave it on longer than 25 minutes . Also, it says it will last , roughly, 23 washings. This is completely false. I wash my hair every 5-6 days. After 2-3 washings this color washes out significantly . So, in one month I wash my hair six (6) times - this color is washing out after two washings. My hair grows slowly so I know it isn't due to new growth . Not sure what else to use, I think I would just go gray instead of going back to permanent hair color. My stylist says that any type of hair color has chemicals and is hard on your hair. I tried Henna ...oh my gosh that was a mistake ! On a scale of 1 - 10 I give this hair color a 4 or 5 rating at most . I'm going to search for something else.
