Great bike.
I have two girls, an 8 and a 9 year old. These are great bikes for them. We were pricing out the Trek 24" Prodigy which was $400. This bike beats or meets the Trek in about every way; better suspension, 31.8mm handlebars, Shimano tourney, similar weight, disk brakes. I love Trek, but I was not going to pay the Trek tax. For those of you not familiar with bikes, Raleigh is name brand and makes high end, quality bikes. The bike was easy to assemble. The derailleur was indexed properly and the high and low end stops were set correctly. Tip: When you assemble you may have to spin the fork 360 degrees to get the cables in the correct orientation. As far as the people talking about hitting the front wheel, that can happen with just about any bike. If you learn to ride a bike properly this is not a problem. My daughter has about 8 miles on this and has not had an issue.

Nice Quality, Cute Bike...but Bad Design
I love everything about this little bike EXCEPT...the front wheel is too close to the pedals and when my 9 year old makes a sharp turn the pedal (and her shoe) hits the tire. She's gotten good at keeping her pedal down when she turns, but it's awkward and a bit dangerous, as an unplanned/abrupt sharp turn to avoid something could cause the front wheel to lock up. And she's not too big for it, as the seat post and handle bars are a perfect fit. The wheel base is just too short.I'll probably keep it, because I like the size, the disk brakes, and the fact that it's a 7-speed (with only a single front chain ring), but it's disappointing that her foot/pedal hits the tire. It's a bummer.

First review of bad design is not true,
Awesome little bike! The prob with the first review of the wheel being too close is obviously that the bike was not set up correctly and fork was on backwards, couldn’t be happier with mine love the matte finish too that was a pleasant surprise to me and my baby girl she loves it! Can’t wait for her to start her little Bella’s group ride and enjoy riding as much as I do! Brakes r soft to touch and work great for cable actuated, will be switching the shifter for trigger shifter witch r easier for little hands and the pedals r kinda heavy for being plastic, nice aluminum ones with more foot print will be more stable and lighter

Design Flaw
You cannot turn the front wheel without hitting the pedals. Huge design flaw.
