❄️ Embrace Winter, Not the Slips!
The HeatTrak HR-Therm3550 Thermostat Extension Cable is designed to automatically activate snow melting mats when temperatures drop below 35°F, ensuring safe walkways and stairs. With an LED indicator for easy monitoring and compatibility with both residential and industrial mats, this extension cable is a must-have for winter safety.

Works Almost
This is a well made item, but fails to regulate the temperature as described. This might work with one sidewalk mat, but definitely will not work with more load. The problem is the current draw of the mats heats the thermostat and causes it to kick off an on. It will keep the mats on long enough to melt light snow. Bottom line it failed to operate as described.

Heat Trak
Well, we haven't had much snow this year but the Heat Trak has melted it quickly. The thermostat comes on about 32F and shuts off at 45C. I don't have to be home or awake to turn it on. I just wish there was an easier way to turn it on/off when it's bitter cold but no snow. Maybe a switch for the outlet??

Poor longevity
I purchased two of these last year; each one worked great all season long. I went to use them this year and neither one is working. They are far to costly to only work for one season.

I don't find this to be reliable so I just have things plugged into a outside timer when I need to.

Returned It
Gave this item three stars even though I returned it. I don't like the fact the you have to purchase these things separately plus this was rather expensive. I was looking for the 20 inch extension cable that was needed to go between the stair mats and the 5-foot mats and the names are too similar (especially since I was in a hurry.) I'm sure it would work fine, but it's not really needed here in the midwest -- once winter comes, the weather seldom warms up enough that you need to worry about a thermostat control.
