This works! Worth every penny.
Purchased for the bottom of our gas fireplace mantel that we were concerned was getting too warm. It worked great. You don't really see it underneath the mantel. It deflected the heat. We also used a strip behind our range to protect the pex water line that was not installed inside the wall. Again, great. It is peel and stick. Very easy to use.

great product
Bought this product to help shield the underside of our seat on our Ranger, did great job. Found out our machine had a overheating issue so dealer did some work and replaced parts that had melted prior to us installing this product. Mechanic commented was a great item and he could see how it had help to protect some of the area under the seat. Once we got our machine back we ordered more of this heat shield and applied to the bottom of the new seat, and the side of the fuel tank. (can see in the pictures)So easy to install this product, will definitely order more when ever need to protect something from heat in future.

Gas Package Heat Exchanger Application.
Excellent product.Solid Quality from Facing to adhesive. The durable reflective face feels like an embossed tyvek canvas material. A few seconds of Mapp gas had little effect on it. Thin yet very durable. I do not anticipate any issues, it's a great product for my application.Product was double folded (not optimal) leaving a stretch crease but it didn't seem to be an issue, it adhered flat and smooth.Read further.I used this as the 3rd layer over 2 layers of a different type of heat shield on the indoor blower motor compartment side of my gas package unit heat exchanger. Combined thickness of perhaps 3/8"?Condensation and corrosion was prevalent on the burner side and the previous foil faced bat fiberglass insulation was deteriorated, ineffective and loose enough to suck into the blower.3 layers with this being the outer layer should atleast be as good as what was there and not come loose or shed fiberglass. I left a gap around the tubes because I didn't want to chance burning from direct contact. Perhaps ceramic mineral rope with water glass adhesive or extreme high temp gasket cementfor that gap but I'll see how well this goes.I'm not sure if there is an r value here but I expect better results with my work over the original loose fiberglass fill.Highly recommend.

Good for intended purpose
I purchased the CBC Thermal Heat Shield to protect surrounding areas (walls with outlets, etc.) from high temperature reflective heat while searing foods with a Benzomatic TS8000 High Intensity Torch with a Searteq attachment and fueled by Map-Pro gas. Map-Pro gas burns at 3730 degrees Fahrenheit so even the reflective heat is quite hot. One scenario is to place the food to be seared on/in cast iron or carbon steel cookware which has been placed on an induction hob and brought to a high temperature (400-500 degrees Fahrenheit). I can now sear the upper and lower surfaces of food simultaneously if desired. The CBC Thermal Heat Shield has adequately performed as a heat barrier protecting surrounding walls from excessive heat.

Good value for household project.
I used it to make kitchen cabinet heat resistant and place inside owen-microvave-air gril combination unit.It does the job by reflecting heat from Owen very well.Easy to cut by scissors and stick to the cabinet walls. For that purpose, its perfect. I will not use it for open flame or extensive heat.

Decent shield
For the price this is a decent product. As a quick test, when it arrived, I cut a square of it and stuck it to a spoon. I took and identical spoon, then held each in a separate hand by the tip of the handle and held both over my propane stove, about 1" from the flame.Eventually, the adhesive on the excess material off the side of the spoon caught fire, but the silver and fiberglass held up well. Also, the adhesive that was touching the spoon did not fail.I doubt you could use this for exhaust tape, but I bought it to insulate fuel and electrical lines from the heat inside a snowmobile cowl. I expect it will work perfectly for that.

Better than expected
This heat sheild was easy to install. With a little cutting I was able to wrap it around corners. I used it for wrapping my air intake tube, but have some other projects that I plan to use this on. This stuff sticks well and hopefully does not beeak down with heat. I was able to take off a little of the backing and start putting in place. It holds on great so you can cut and form it without it slipping around or pulling off. Thanks!

chillin' in an ex hot seat.
Works fairly well. I needed more thermal insulation than a single layer offered, so layered it double. Now works fine.
