Mini 100 Small Metal Spinning Wheel Aluminum Fishing Reel with Metal Spool for Freshwater and All Season Fishing

I got two of these reels for ice fishing. They work perfect. Drag works great, anti reverse, it's all good for the price. Only down side is the line it comes with, it's a little to heavy for ice fishing. I changed them over to 3# test, works excellent.

I like the reel because is super convenient and perfect for an ultra light rod, but it does come with a couple drawbacks: one being that you need to watch the spool as you retrieve to make sure it doesn’t tangle, and you also have to manually close the bail. At the end of the day it’s a functional reel that is fun to fish with. I use 10lb braid and it works fine, I don’t suggest going over 8lb with monofilament, the spool won’t hold very much string.

Pretty small but well built.

So this little reel is cheaper than a fast food combo these days. It’s a micro real and fits well on a a ultralight rod. Perfect for playing around and having fun fishing. Comes with line already on the spool, but the line is junk and needs to be replaced right of the bat since the line mine had was pretty well heat set and came off in curls ( what you’d expect from some cheap mono that’s been in the heat). The action is smooth and works as expected. For the price it’s pretty dang good. Now where I have criticism is in the over finish quality. The casting of the reel is real rough and doesn’t have a great finish. It’s rough and imperfect. The drag button is low quality plastic and the detailing is rough again. But over all it’s what you expect for something so low budget. That doesn’t mean it no good, but you can see that they cut the price by cutting the casting detailing and finish of the reel. If I paid a lot more I’d have something to truly complain about in those regards, but as of now they put their work efforts in the function of the reel and left the finishing of the casting and surface details off the work list, but again for the price it’s not terrible. Some of my old reels have much worse surfaces than this little reel does and just like my old reels, the finish doesn’t hinder the operation, it just doesn’t win a beauty contests.All in all, the price matches the finish quality, the function is good and the little thing works as you’d expect an open face spinning reel to work. With all that in mind I’d buy another one for sure. Great for kids to learn on and for me to have fun with. It’s not a beauty contest winner, but if that’s the case you’d probably be dropping a whole lot more on a reel to make sure your buddies get jealous.Win win real.

I have not had opportunity to actually use yet but from all appearances this is a great deal!

Great put the reel on my Shakespeare micro pole and caugh a 4 1/2 pound rainbow trout

They are not the quality I thought they would be. They ended up with my granddaughters as toys
