Bought this bag a couple years ago. I use it about every day and it still looks amazing. I even used this all summer when riding my motorcycle to carry extra clothing and electronics for small trips. Probably the best bag I ever owned. Built strong and has plenty of compartments for bring just about anything you may need.

I bought this bag specifically for the large side pockets. When it arrived the side pockets sit flush with the front pocket stitching. I was either given the wrong bag or the picture posted is wrong.

This bag is wonderful its look, feels, and smells like a good rustic bag. However it has some misinformation/miscommunication regarding its size in the description. Yes the bag has a laptop slot, BUT you could only slide in a 13 maybe 14 inch laptop INSIDE the slot, I have a 15 inch macbook pro and it can be squeezed in the slot though a good fourth of the laptop will stick up unprotected and thus not very use full to stop books from scratching it. I say it can fit a 13-14 inch laptop because you can fit one in WITH a laptop sleeve already around the computer thus protecting the laptop better while keeping it secure. The main bag compartment though CAN fit any sized laptop including the 17 inch really just NOT in the designated laptop sleeve. The ipad sleeve in the bag is also too small to fit my ipad mini (with its case on) perhaps without the case it could fit but it just doesn't make sense to leave the ipad unprotected when the sleeve itself is not very padded. In truth both sleeves for the laptop and ipad only really need 1/4-1/2 an inch width added to them for it to be perfect. Preferably they should add another 2-4 inches in length to the laptop sleeve if they want it to truly act on its own in protecting your computer. Despite these issues the bad is very roomy inside its main compartment. It's pockets are a good decent size for any student and the side pocket are capable of holding a small water bottle in them while zipped and a normal water bottle while unzipped. The bag smells like leather when it first arrives, which fades with time but never really leaves. I LOVE the smell though so its not a negative point for me at all. The "buckles" on the bag are actually held by snap ons that are extremely strong. I don't see any problems with them for now but if they start to fail or rip I would just sow in the bottom leather piece for the clip to the backpack and keep the buckles as the main way of opening the bag. But for now they are strong and efficient for opening the bag quickly to get a book or pen. The bag is light and compact and uses its space (mostly) wisely (see laptop/ipad sleeves above). It fits more than I expected while stopping me from packing useless stuff inside it. Overall the bag is a wonderful price and a strong product that won't fall apart easily. Other than the false/misleading information about the size of the sleeves in the backpack I would have given it 5 stars, but because of that I'm going to give it 4 stars. I may be able to pack my laptop in it, I just can't slide it in the designated sleeve which is a disappointment.
