LOVE THESE PENS
Pretty and they write well. Mine hasn't ran out after 2 years now.

Great pen, but will last the same amount of time as any other
It's a catchy marketing gimmick to say that this pen will actually last for seven years. It helps to justify the price for a ball point pen. I agree with other posters that the pen writes very well. It has a good "feel" to it when you're writing and because of that I will probably buy another one. But seven years? No. Mine lasted a year and then stopped writing after the first 2-3 words. So, great pen. Worth the price for the way it writes, just don't expect it to last you through undergrad and grad school.

One Star
may last for 7 years - not that comfortable to hold

Two Stars
Worked for a month, definitely not 7 years.

It feels nice in the hand and has a very nice design, happy to keep it for 7 years!

My go to pen
Weirdly attached to this pen... I actually keep it clipped on my work badge so it gets constant use, has proven its durability, and has never been anything less than perfect. The click mechanism makes a very cool sound. Five star pen.

Nice pen, but not a 7 year
Writes nice and smooth, and I liked it while I was using it. Unfortunately, only lasted just shy of 10 months, used to makes notes at work.

Dropping from 5 to 1! Not such a "terrific buy"...
Disregard the former positive review below!! This thing just completely gave out on me--for real this time, it would appear...19 months later. Not a drop left. I removed the (opaque...wow) ink cartridge, and sure, it's thicker than the average, but it's also shorter. It isn't even the full length of the pen. Are you serious? Great IDEA, and it seemed like a fine pen, but last night I got stuck without one because I figured that even for someone who fills up as many pages as I often do, a "Seven-Year Pen" should last for at least three or four years. Not fewer than two. Booooooo. I don't know how they calculated the "average" amount of ink used by the "average" person over the course of a year, but perhaps they were going by some occasional, minimal scribblers. UGH. I've had good regular pens last longer than this. :(----------Of course I only realized after buying this from another company that it's available in far more than the 3 designs they carried, but fortunately I'm still very pleased with the lovely purple bird-&-feather pen. Can always pick another design in seven years! ;) What a simple, obvious, great idea. Of course, it gives you an added reason to keep track of your pen, but I always do that anyway...nobody borrows a pen from me and "forgets" to return it! This opens and retracts with a simple twist (twisting the wrong way encounters resistance, so breaking it would be very difficult), writes smoothly and finely--you can fill pages with teeny-tiny notes that will be legible, even if you require reading glasses or a microscope--and feels nice in your hand. What feels even nicer is the knowledge that it will allow you to dispose of far less plastic. It even inspired me to make another green choice (replacing disposable bathroom cups with a shotglass; the cup holder serves well as a second soap dish!) Definitely cool not to keep switching amongst various other pens, and having some run out of ink. And noooo more novelty pens for me, either; I've learned my lesson...those ridiculous things run out within a month. Just to have one good, solid one that'll be with ya for a good long time--that's swell. Sometimes you have to scribble a bit to get the ink flowing, but that's normal for any pen. Plus, it doesn't smear on my calendar! :D
