The Fender quality you should expect
Installed on a Fretlight Strat, so minor modifications were made to the guitar headstock. These tuners are smooth turning and easy to operate.Staggered heights to keep string alignment.Top quality workmanship shows visually and in how well they precisely adjust string tension.

Good upgrade or replacement tuners
Of course they're good. They're Fender tuners! Nice and smooth. I used these to upgrade the tuners on a Squire Strat HH, which i had to drill out the holes in the neck and add a screw hole for the mounting screw on each tuner. Not plug-&-play for my particular application, but definitely worth the effort.

New Fender Tuners for the Squier
Before buying my Squier, I knew I was going to replace the tuners. It was just a question of what to buy. These Fender tuners are a bargain. Fender OEM tuners were the right compromise between quality and price for my new Squier (Standard Stratocaster Rosewood, Antique Burst).Yes, drilling is required, which is something I had hoped to avoid. Both tuners have the same shaft size (10 mm?), so there are no “major” issues. However, the backside of the Fender tuners is slightly larger than Squier’s. Instead of the common setscrew setup, both types of tuners have two, short, 3/32 inch diameter pins. The Fender pins are a little farther from the shaft. Therefore, another pair of holes is required for each tuner. The distance between the old and new holes is very small. You’ll need a “sharp” drill bit and a steady hand to keep the drill from slipping into the old hole, thereby creating a notch instead of two separate holes. If this happens, I suggest using a fast curing, two-part, wood epoxy to fill the notch, then re-drill, maybe start with a smaller pilot hole. These Fender tuners worked fine for me and my Squier. It just took some effort.Oh, by the way. These are “staggered’ tuners, meaning the shafts have different lengths. They are marked with Roman numbers. The set here comes with (from longest to shortest): one VI, one V, two III, and two II.

Installation tip
These are great tuners however they just didn't fit my guitar as it was an aftermarket Fender neck. I've seen some comments about the nubs on the tuners. Yes they are difficult to install unless you're neck already has them drilled. Here's a tip; put the tuners on make sure they're straight get a 10 mm socket and start tightening them very gently until the nubs make a small dent on the back of the neck that will give you the reference point as to where to drill the hole. Super easy!

If you have a predrilled fender neck. BUY THESE
These Fender Tuners were a breeze to install. I purchased a Fender replacement neck and was all set to use a non Fender vintage style tuner. What a job that would have been. Putty the holes in the back of the Headstock and sand and stain. Re-align new tuners. Drill newscrew holes and on and on you go. These tuners snapped right in. Add a nut over the tuner shaft, tighten, and you are done.So easy to install and tuning up a breeze and so far they keep the strings tone. I like them and I believe for a few bucks more you can have locking tuners. Fender really did it right with these tuners. Good price. Works great and looks good.

Didn't fit.
Great quality, and craftsmanship..just didn't fit my guitar.. I have a Squier Jazzmaster Vintage Modified and I took off the original tuners and these tuners were a lot shorter and left me under a half inch for the strings..I'm lazy and didn't return them but instead I suppose I'll just keep them for spare parts or resell them locally.
