Diablotek 80+ Bronze ATX12V/EPS12V Semi Modular Power Supply PDA-650BW

purchased this as i discovered the 500watt psu, I had in a custom computer, wasn't enough power. I love love love the idea of Modular cabling. I've never used a modular cable power supply before. For someone like me that is concerned with air flow and cable management inside of a computer case, the modular cable design is awesome. I only have to have the cables needed for the computer's requirements. It's nice not having to have every spare cable tied down and tucked away somewhere for ones that are not needed. I was able to only need 4 cables added including the main power cables. using 1 PCIe Power, 3 SATA power for 2 HDD/1 ODD, and 2 MOLEX power for 4 system/case Fans. Plus the giant built in case fan provides a lot more air flow than the older psu I had in this computer. I plan to buy more of this brand if I am able for other computer builds. the Price was also perfect for me - I thought I would have to shell out up to $100 for a PSU with specs close to this model.

It ran quiet and was great...while it worked. I left it on over night and the next day while playing music, surfing the web and downloading some files my system shut off. Trying to short the pins to start the power supply by it self failed. Maybe I had a bad unit but this failed and failed hard on me. Would not buy again.I've built many computers over the years and have had power supplies fail on me, but usually after years of usage. A power supply failing under 24 hours is a new record for me.
