TCM Greatest Classic Legends Film Collection: Elizabeth Taylor & Richard Burton

Had no problems with the dvd. I really just wanted the Sandpiper movie. It was cheaper to get it in this set.

I could have lived without The Comedians but the other three movies make this a must-own for fans of this duo.

Purchased to replace an old, scratched 'Sandpiper' dvd . 'Sandpiper' is one of my favorite Taylor movies and had watched 'Virginia Woolf' previously, but had never seen 'The VIPs' or 'The Comedians'. Highly recommend 'The Comedians', for a harsh education in what it's like living in a corrupt, poor country. Glad to have all in my dvd collection and to have purchased at a great price.

Richard Burton and Lis Taylor are riveting actors and are found in many wonderful Movies!

First off, I’m not sure why there are Barbara Stanwyck reviews on this product. This is a DVD collection of four Elizabeth Taylor/Richard Burton movies they made together.The best reason I’ve found to buy this collection is for the physical copy of “Who’s Afraid of Virginia Woolf?” Although I haven’t seen the other three movies yet, the reviews online are not promising. There are better TCM collections out there for similar or less money, such as Barbara Stanwyck’s or Jimmy Stewart. I somewhat regret purchasing this item, especially since the first copy arrived damaged and I’m now faced with the inconvenience of sending it back. The second copy arrived as it should have.

Who's afraid of Virginia Wolf. One of Liz Taylor's greatest performances. Richard Burton's "Night of the Iguana" is a favorite also. I love watching the classic movies.

Realmente se disfruta la visualización de estas historias donde puedes admirar no solo a Taylor y Burton sino a muchas estrellas más donde los ves mucho muy jóvenes y calibras las actuaciones que hicieron que esos actores perduraran en el tiempo.

Un buen pack de películas que a pesar de ser de región 1, cualquier reproductor de dvd actual puede leer. Todas excepto una:Annie Oackley, que no hubo manera. Aun así, pude verla a través del ordenador. 4 buenos clásicos a un buen precio, eso sí en inglés, con opción a subtítulos.

I recently purchased four different titles from the TCM Greatest Classic Film series with a $50 Amazon gift card I received at Christmastime, a total of 16 films, and I still had some cash available on the card. Nice! I think that these TCM sets offer some incredible value for collectors of classic movies, especially when you can find them on sale, and avoid duplicating films that may already be in your collection. I have a huge movie library, and that's getting harder and harder to do.Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf is the standout film in this package, and the main reason I bought this four movie set. I'd rate the other movies at between 2 - 3 stars out of a possible four. Also, The Comedians is the full uncut 148 minute version, and not the shorter 130 minute edit.The TCM Taylor & Burton collection contains the same four movies that were also released in a much more expensive box set. The only difference being a special features disc for Who's Afraid of Virginia Woolf that isn't included here. Since that wasn't a deal-breaker for me I bought this collection instead. At the current low selling price of $9.88, it easily earns a five star great value rating, I can certainly recommend it.

The wonderfully talented Barbara Stanwyck is terrific in all four of the movies here. My personal favourite is "My Reputation" followed by "Baby Face" but to be honest her star quality is so overwhelming and bright that I'd watch her in anything. She is truly one of the greatest actresses of all time and I couldn't recommend this collection enough. Sheer Class !!
