Rivstar Girls' Big Mermaid Tankini Set 2PC Swim Suit, Purple, 12

My daughter is 8, and I've turned into one of those over-protective moms when it comes to what she wears. So many garments for younger girls are so skimpy and even suggestive. She loves the idea of 2 piece suits, but I prefer the tankini style, just for some extra modesty. This is where she usually goes "Oh mom." (Note: "mom" should be read as a 2 syllable word with your tone dripping with disdain.)For years, mermaids were her thing, but now she's too cool for that (although secretly still loving it, if you understand how such things go). This has the barest suggestion of that, but it's not over the top. It also has a purple top, which is great since purple is her current favorite color. She's not over the moon about the pink, but I don't mind the contrasting colors.She's worn this suit about 20 times already, including to a waterslide park on several occasions (i.e. rough wear). It's holding up very well, and even the metallic silver "scales" are staying put. That was the area I was concerned about, since those metallics often don't last with wear and tear. I would strongly recommend this suit, and if it's available next summer - especially in different colors - I'd absolutely purchase this again.
