I have never replaced a set of brakes before but fairly mechanically inclined. I bought a secondhand mountain bike with the idea of replacing parts as needed. The piece in the worst shape was the the brakes. They were sticking and not working very well. I looked at buying individual components and that would have cost at least 10 dollars more so I bought this kit. They didn't come with any instructions but it's not to difficult to figure out the steps. If needed there are hundreds of YouTube videos outlining the process. Anyway it took about 20 minutes to replace the brakes and another 10 minutes to adjust them. They work much better than the ones already on there and the process was painless. One thing you probably should do with the equipment is to remove the brake cables from their sheathing and add some ceramic grease to them. It prevents rusting and lets them move more smoothly.

These replaced a pair many years old that had not aged well in the elements at the beach. The installation was easy and the brakes functioned smoothly with no fine tuning required. The bonus is the Kool-Stop like pads for extra stopping power. Good purchase.

I've had them on my bike for almost a year now and they've held up well on a bike that I use daily.

What a deal for the price! You could buy a low level Shimano brake set for 4 times the price for better quality. But for bikes used casually in town or street, this set is more than adequate. Making it even more of a bargain, it comes with cables and housing and even cable tips. It has all you need to replace your old brake set. The rear housing is longer than needed for most bikes and will need to be trimmed. The pads on one set of calipers were mounted incorrectly such that the longer end of the pads faced forward rather than back. Re-attaching them to the correct orientation was no problem. All the other assembly was fine. Highly recommend this set.

These breaks were pretty easy to install. I went for a ride and the front break noodle kept slipping off the clamp. Upon closer inspection, I noticed the clamp opening had bent somehow. I have no idea how that could have happened! I took some needle nose pliers and attempted to straighten it out. I ended up scratching a lot of the black paint off in the process.The paint on the black tension screws has already peeled off, but honestly that's to be expected. I don't expect the black paint on these to hold up, but so far the paint is staying on.They're decent breaks for the price and look good compared to the rusty garbage that was there before. Overall, they're good for being under $20 for the set.

I bought a Schwinn meridian tricycle that had the band brakes in the back and they were all rusted so I needed a different option for brakes. I bought this and it was super easy to install on the front part of the bike for the front brakes and I now have an extra set for the future. Really easy to put on and work really well. Stops the bike immediately.

Honestly, I didn't know what I expected; I was rebuilding an old bike for a budget, light-duty bikepacking setup. The front brakes went on, but adjustment was finicky and tensioning was a lot of trial-and-error. That's fine. It's $13.I hand fitted the rear set, but they wouldn't pivot, so I attempted to pull them out to check what's causing the issu. I couldn't wrestle them out by hand, with wd-40, or heat and had to tap them out. When I got them off I noticed the mounting point was actually expanded from the provided screws (the bolt went on fine with a little pressure--I expected some resistance because thread locker is pre-installed). I now have a frame with mushy front brakes and an unusable rear brake mount.Take away: You get your money's worth. Test fit the bolts after removing the thread locker and check it the parts are in spec before committing. I personally do not recommend this product but your mileage may vary.

Hab den Artikel jetzt seit ca. einem Jahr gekauft. Der Aufbau war ganz OK, bis auf die Griffe. Im Artikeltext steht, dass es auch für Kinderräder geeignet ist. Aber die Griffe sind zu groß.Weiterhin ist die Kabelführung der Bremse nicht gut gelöst. Das Kabel springt immer Mal aus der Verankerung. Und seit gestern geht nichts mehr, da wir auf den Bild zu sehen das Kabel sich in die Führung eingebohrt hat. Sowas darf nicht passieren und hatte schnell zu einem Unfall führen können. Schade
