Trouble in Paradise
This lighter is lovely and fascinating. I had never seen an arc lighter before. Enjoyed it immensely - until the fire started in my bedroom. There was nothing wrong with the lighters functionality. The incident was human error and design flaw. You have to actively shut it off. I didn't know this, lit what I wanted to light and sat it down on a bamboo surface and went about my busy day. The smoke column floating down the stairs let me know there was big trouble in paradise. I was able to put the flames (yes) out on my own but a few seconds more and it might have also been the curtains. When I recovered this lighter from the mini ruin, the button was in the ON position. This lighter works like a charm but is not for the absent minded.

Awesomeness!
My goal was to find a lighter that was pretty enough I could keep it on the kitchen table, to light my candles during meals. It was WAY more difficult than it should have been to meet this goal. All the lighters I found were either flip lighters, which I'm not comfortable with, or the long plastic lighters that look... plasticy. FINALLY I came across this electric lighter. It looks wood-ish. I mean it's obviously fake wood but it is a LOT prettier than the alternatives.Also, the electric is FUN! It's so cool! No more lighter fluid, you just recharge it with the micro-usb to usb plug.The only thing it's missing is some sort of safety lock. It's really easy to activate the lighter, you wouldn't want to have it where kids could get at it, and I wouldn't feel safe traveling with it.It still looks good, but the ends have gotten a little singed from being held too long over a candle flame.

Cool tech, easy to use, works great!
I wasn't sure what to expect with an electronic lighter, but this is pretty slick! Easy to use + great candle lighter. The only thing that's a little hard to light are tall, smaller mouth candles when the wick is towards the bottom since you don't have the length of a flame like with other regular (butane) candle lighters. Wood grain + silver look fake/cheap, but at this price, I didn't expect much more. Overall, great purchase and would recommend to others! I haven't tried in the elements yet, but can imagine that this works much better in wind/rain too.

Upscale lighter
I wanted a lighter I could leave on my wood tray. I think it looks pretty nice. Not perfect, but better than anything else I saw, for this price. My kids think it's neat how the candle is lit by a current and not actual flame. Seems to hold charge a long time. It could be smaller and for my purposes, darker, but I'm happy with it.

It Does a Job, and Won't Break the Bank.
I wanted something that I could use time and again to light my tealight candles, and this certainly works just fine. I only wish it came in a darker wood color. Good stuff. A good purchase, and I highly recommend.

Wow, this is the lighter of the future! No flame, no fluid! That doesn’t mean it can’t hurt you, so be aware while using it and don’t let the kids play with it. They’re a good size and “lighting” it is very easy. Love the wood grain look.
