Ahnu Women's W Sugarpine II Waterproof Ripstop Hiking Shoe, Deep Lake, 8 Medium US

I have had 2 or 3 pairs of Ahnu Sugarpine waterproof hiking shoes. Loved them. These are just not the same. Big, sloppy fit and uncomfortable. I wish they would repeat the original. Returned them.

This shoe fits small for me, very stiff and uncomfortable. Socks need to be sturdy as they will fall down because the uppers are constantly hitting them. BUT, most importantly, I bought these to walk around cobblestones in Europe, hike in AZ and I am slipping and sliding on the shoe that advertises 'good traction'! Rainy day in AZ, tried to give these shoes another chance, stepped up on the running board of the expedition, slipped off and banged my knee. Then walked up the saltillo sidewalk and almost went down if not for my husband holding my hand! This happens on wet sidewalk, driveways, etc. I just can't wear these! Past return date or they'd be gone!!!!

Some reviewers have found this model to be too small, but for me it's pretty true to size; however I remove all insoles and use my custom orthotics, which can make a difference one way or the other depending on the shoe. I sooooo wanted these Sugarpines to work because I love the deep turquoise color which is bright but not obnoxious. (Shallow? Moi?)But the shoes have the same problems for me that have caused many other people to reject them. The heel back is too high and rubs against the back of my ankles, even with socks. A day's walking on these would leave blisters. My heels also move up and down too much in the shoe because that essential back eyelet is missing. Just about every other athletic and hiking shoe has that eyelet because heels need to be held securely.So I could only keep these if I'm going to lounge around all day showing off my turquoise feet. Not my style.

I am an ardent fan of Ahnu shoes and wear both the Sugarpine sneakers/hikers and the Montarra's. This is the first I've gotten the waterproof Sugarpine sneaker/hiker. And they are much stiffer than the non-waterproof edition. I'll probably get used to them and they'll loosen up, but I've been accustomed to just putting them on and loving them, that I'm ever so disappointed in the fact they don't feel as comfortable. Went for a couple mile hike and my feet were hot. But I also felt they are well-built and should hold up.

I live in these shoes, my favorites, and my 4th pair. I buy 1-2 pairs a year, high top and low top. They are INCREDIBLY durable and water resistant. And yes, I get compliments every time I wear them! They are unbelievably comfortable and easy to spot clean. I have had both hips replaced, yet I insist on staying active- these are the only shoes I have found that provide both comfort and stability for rigorous hiking. I have custom orthodics that fit PERFECTLY in these shoes. Wish I had a pair in every color!

The length is perfect.The width is SUPER wide.I have to really pull the laces as tight as possible to get this shoe to stay on my foot. As a result, there's little to no flexibility for the up and back rocking motion of walking.These shoes are waterproof. No leaks whatsoever.The traction is shockingly awful. Wet sidewalks create a sliding hazard. I nearly went head first down wet and slightly moss covered paving stones.It's very disappointing, because I really like the weight, height, look and overall feel of this sneaker. However, I bought these shoes specifically to wear when I help an elderly woman who is sequestered at a house on the river and next to a nature preserve. I can wear the shoes indoors, but feel as though I'm risking an injury every time I walk out the front door.Super disappointed because these shoes are similar to the shoes I lived in and loved during my freshman year of college.

My wife was looking for good shoe for when she needs something waterproof. These fit the bill. She doesn't like to wear shoes (mainly wears Sanuk sandals) but she said they are quite comfortable and are true to size. They are a little heavier than a regular shoe but not very much. She really likes the rounded toe as it just adds to the overall comfort.

Great waterproof shoe that I mostly wear to walk the dog in any weather. Love the fact that these shoes are waterproof because i can walk through dewy grass or in the rain and so far, my feet have remained dry. The shoes took a few wears to feel comfortable but I'm happy with how they fit now. I had a similar pair of Ahnu shoes before that had an additional hole for laces at the ankle. I thought that i would really need it but turns out, these are fine without it.

The shoes are reasonably comfortable but not as much arch support as I had hoped for. It's a bit snug across the top of the toes, but not so much that it hurts my feet.

This product is made of durable construction and comfort. My foot is very wide so I find the front of the shoe snug, not enough to be uncomfortable but definitely snug while the back of the shoe is a little loose around the heel. Still great hiking shoe and I am glad I went with them.

Teva Sugarpine are my fav's. Hug my feet which are on the narrow side.Ordered on Sunday and received Tuesday morning.
