Fruit for this wine was sourced from vineyards across the Wairau and Awatere valleys of the Marlborough region. The growing sites spanned a range of different meso-climates. The 2012 vintage will go down in history for its long, dry and extended season. As a result, vine health was optimal resulting in superb vineyard flavour development with fruit harvested in excellent condition. Celebrating its 50th Anniversary in 2012, Villa Maria is one of the best known and recognisable New Zealand brands on the UK market; it is not one of the biggest in terms of volume, but one of the best-known brands in terms of its quality reputation.
