Favorite decaf brand for a great cup of brew!
After McCafe decaf changed their packaging, the coffee also seemed to change (evidently had also changed suppliers) with a bitter taste and made me feel jittery. Am very sensitive to caffeine and chemicals even in packaging - thanks to Lyme disease). The newer McCafe even gave me headaches and stomach pain. Tried different decaf brands and this one is the best. I have to use a tad more to get the flavor right but overall am satisfied with this purchase. Plus it is organic and doesn’t use chemicals to process. The Allegro Whole Foods blend decaf is pretty awesome too and more robust for the morning. The Italian Roast seems a little smoother while being somewhat robust as well, depending on how much coffee you add when it is brewed. No more jitters and no bitter aftertaste! It costs more than the McCafe but the Allegro is definitely better tasting, naturally processed and organic so well worth paying for.

Best decaf I've had
I've brewed with many different organic decaf whole beans. I use them with a burr grinder and a manual espresso machine to make doppios, lattes, cappuccinos, and Americanos. I consider myself very picky with coffee. These are the best tasting decaf beans I've ever had and I've tried these other decaf Allegro beans: French Roast, Italian, Espresso Sierra (all organic); as well as decafs from other brands - No Fun Jo Decaf, Java Planet Peru Single Origin, and Don Pablo Colombian Decaf. Out of all of these, this one, Allegro Coffee Decaf Organic Whole Foods Blend Whole Bean Coffee, is the best in my opinion. Since the pandemic, I've noticed Allegro isn't delivering the freshest beans - the only complaint I have is I wish these didn't have a best by date of only 3 months from the time I got them delivered, but I will definitely go through the 12 0z pack I got before then. I've gotten some Allegro beans that expire way sooner than that; I've noticed if I order for Whole Foods delivery rather than through Amazon Prime, it's at least a few weeks fresher. Even with the beans not being the freshest, these beans rock.

Its a great cup of decaf
This coffee Rocks, I have had decaf from over 100 National brands including thePatented Swiss water process which if you don't know is a chemical free way to removecaffeine. So here is why I like it 1) It's whole bean so fresh you grind it and get the best cup.2) It's well-balanced not lemon juice. 3) It's more of a medium to darker roast which is why youdrink coffee if your caffeine restricted this will make up for it. Always grind your coffee and thenuse it don't grind it and then wait 4 weeks. Use clean cold filtered water and if your going organicthrow down a few more cents and get unbleached coffee filters. Enjoy your cup of Joe this product I recommend yes I will buy it again.

My Favorite Decaf but STALE through Amazon!
Edited review: I will not be ordering coffee through Amazon again. FTR, Allegro is a great coffee. Unfortunately Amazon is not a great ordering platform for it. The coffee arrived with less than 4-weeks to expiration, had no air compression, smelled/looked/tasted stale already. NO refund/return/replace option offered! When I buy Allegro from the WF store it's fresh with several months before expiration and has at least some oil left on the beans. Had same problem when I ordered Lucy Jo's decaf from Amazon, so now I know it's Amazon & NOT the coffee roaster! Also, saw lots of other reviews stating this same problem. From now on I'll buy direct from Allegro or find another online coffee roaster. Frankly, I think Amazon's chain of supply/delivery is not reliable, with too many illegal knock-off products & shady sellers so prefer to go direct anyway & not feed "the beast." Just trying out their Prime trial. Will NOT be renewing.earlier review:Is any organic decaf truly great? I don't know, but this one is as close as I've found. I need a strong, robust coffee and usually have to mix 1/2 & 1/2 with caffeinated to like it at all, but sometimes I really just need straight decaf. The decaf at Human Bean drive-throughs is great but not organic so that's a treat, not a main staple. Anyway, Allegro fits the bill! I wish they're free shipping minimums weren't so high on their direct website as I'd much rather order it direct for a fresher bean. I guess it's a trade-off. As long as Amazon provides it well within exp date I'll continue to order since we don't have a WF in my region.

Very Dark Roast
Roaster may have gone a little overboard. Not a medium dark roast. Very dark. Was so disappointed with the roast, I must have brewed it wrong and blamed the coffee the first day. Focused the second day and wow! It is pretty good. To spite the roast. I burr grinded the beans on coarse, temperature checked the water to 195 degrees and french pressed. Delicious. Still wish it was more of a medium roast but it's so hard to find a robust organic decaf whole bean coffee. Will probably purchase again.

I can finally drink decaff coffee without health concerns.
I did a taste test with other Swiss coffee blends such as San Francisco Bay, dark horse. Etc. This was definitely in the top 3. I think I like San Francisco Bay a little better but not by much. They are both impressive decaff coffees with tons of flavor. Can't wait to try more companies but you can definitely order this companies coffee with confidence. I use the pour over method with a chemex and its delicious.

Doesn't taste the same as when I started ordering it
I don't know if I got a bad batch but it seems to give a weaker cup of coffee now.
