Wonderful product! It's a pomade which is soft and makes curls bounce, not stiff or tacky after u apply it. I have naturally curly hair, and it works well for me. I apply in AM when getting ready after coming my hair, whrn dry, I add a small amount to my hands and work into curls. They stay bouncy all day! After I wash it at nite, I blow dry my hair to slightly damp and apply to hair, once fully dry, I fluff and thr pomade again makes them look AND FEEL very soft! This product is a bit pricey BUT, I haven't found anything better or comparable! Pros: 1. Soft and managable curls throughout the day, just scrunch and they pop right back up. 2. Applying only small amount so hair isn't tacky, my hair is soft and touchable. Cons: 1. Wish it came in a bigger size! Lol

I have used this Aveda product on and off for 20+ years. It holds my loose hairs back when I have a ponytail -- which is every day -- and it smells unbelievably good. It isn't sticky or tacky, either. Hair does remain slightly damp; when the stragglers get loose, I run a comb through and I look civilized once again. This is a good product for looking neat when you're growing your hair out. Also, it doesn't dry out my color-treated hair or damage it in any other way. It's a great product and worth the price.

I just love this product. It makes my hair look and feel much healthier. It makes my very dry hair look better, as well as actually helping to "heal" my hair.. Just a little bit is needed, and you apply it by rubbing a small amount in your fingers and palms, and then apply it from the front and sides, working your way back and downward. My Hair Stylist used this product on my hair for the first time about 15 years ago, and I have been using it ever since. I have tried every other humectant or pomade gel brand that is available, and absolutely NONE even come close to Aveda Brilliant Humectant Pomade. A little bit goes a long way, so one jar lasts me for a couple of months at least. I get very frizzy hair and lots of split ends so I actually must use this product. It takes all of that dryness away and lasts all day. It doesn't leave my hair feeling greasy or clumpy. It actually gets absorbed into my hair while keeping it down and feeling good. Then when you are getting ready for bed, I just rinse my hair quickly at the sink, dry it down with a towel in seconds, and whatever is left, is all out of my hair in seconds. I love it!

Being a huge Aveda fan, I used this product years ago. And I remember loving the way it smelled. Hiwever, I think the fragrance isn’t the same. Still nice, but I preferred the former. It is a great product and my hair does look shiny and finished when I use it.

I started using this in college, when I could least afford it. It has never let me or my curls down. It's one of the best products I've found to add shine and control frizz, and that's saying a lot. I have naturally curly hair and it's fine, so it's very prone to frizz, plus I live in the Lowcountry where the humidity levels are normally in the 90% range, so I mean it when I say it controls frizz. Just use sparingly, you can always add more, but you cannot take it out or blow dry it out if you put in too much...so it takes a hot minute to learn how much your hair will actually need. But it works BEAUTIFULLY!

I don't know what some of the other critics of this product are talking about. I've loved this for years. It does exactly what it's supposed to: adds a lot of shine and smooths flyaway hair. It's not meant to be a mousse, hairspray, or gel. Sure, if you use too much, you get a greasy effect. So, don't use too much. I have shoulder-length hair and I use a finger tip's dab, emulsify it in my palms, and then smooth it over my hair with my palms. The effect is instant: great shine and smooth locks. And, because you don't need much, it lasts a long time, making it a good bargain for the price. I think the aroma is very pleasing: natural and non-chemical. Sometimes I use the stuff just for the nice fragrance.

I love this humectant! It goes through my hair lightly and, when I blow dry for a style, it gives volume and shape ! Never leaves a sticky feel! This product is perfect to encourage whatever curl comes naturally!

I have used Aveda Humectant Pomade for years, and it gives shine and subtle styling to my coarse, curly hair. A little goes a long way, so a jar lasts a long time. The humectant pomade pulls moisture into my hair strands, allowing it to curl beautifully without frizz. Quickly running my fingers through easily re-styles my hair if I’ve been wearing a hat or toque in winter.
