Works great
This bag set up is interesting for sure. The thickness of the bag is good enough and not too thick, to allow it to function well and make sure the lid closes well. So the quality seems good. So about the size of them, this small one only lasts for about a week. So the size is ok. They are wicked expensive though.

LOVE LITTER GENIE!!!
I've been a staffer for cats (dogs have owners, but cats have staff - that's just part of living with felines) for most of my life. I love them dearly. While the litter box is not a favorite part of living with those of the feline persuasion, it's part of the job. So when Litter Genie came along, I was more than willing to give it a try. Based on the same principle as a Diaper Genie (which didn't come along until after my babies were out of diapers), the Litter Genie provides an unobtrusive place to dump the everyday "smellies" until it's time for them to go out to the garbage can. The bag cartridges, which are actually what I'm reviewing here, provide a continuous sturdy plastic bag which you knot off at the bottom, fill until the Genie is full, cut off with the convenient and very safe Genie bag cutter, then knot off at the top for toxic waste disposal. The cartridges are wonderfully easy to install and the plastic is sturdier and far and away better than the plastic grocery bags at locking away those odors. They're a bit on the expensive side if you buy them at the big pet stores, but ordered here from Amazon, much more price friendly. Yes, the plastic grocery bags that come home with you are free, but aren't purposed for litter box disposal...and sometimes it's just worth it to spend extra for a great product. We are a 3 cat house and I've become a big fan of the Litter Genie system.

Litter Genie, Less Stinky House, Happy Cats, Happy Life!
We love our Litter Genie. Why? Cat Psychology 101: Because scooping daily when you have two boy cats is important. When you don't scoop daily boy cats get really upset. They like to give you a little side eye and a little grumpy face and sometimes they will leave "presents" in places where "presents" don't belong. And sometimes it starts fights because there isn't enough sand in the sand box. So, to avoid these things, I keep it real with a daily scoop. The Litter Genie helps with a daily scoop because you don't have to find a bag to put your daily scoop in (which is a great way to use all those extra bags you may have laying around, but let's be honest, a lot of those have a little hole in the bottom, and you can use those for other things, like your lunch!), and you don't have to make a trip to the garbage every day! You can just put it in the Litter Genie and forget it. Look. It's true. Most of us are lazy. No, I'm not calling you lazy. I'm calling me lazy. I'm lazy. Especially when it comes to things like scooping poop. It's not my favorite activity. So, if I can help myself out by making it easier, then more power to me and the product that does it. And the Litter Genie and the Litter Genie bags do that. When you put the scoop in the Litter Genie, you can't smell it anymore. It is magic. Then every now and then, you take out one big bag. Keeping a three pack on hand makes this part of your household chores, just like taking out the garbage or replacing the toilet paper. Your cats are family members, so add them to the daily routine. You poop, they poop, everybody poops, and this takes care of their poop. It's super easy and it makes the process less annoying and the clean up an easy habit to get in to. Everyone is happy (you, cats, visitors). I have a lot of pride when people say, "Except for the fact that your cats are really awesome, and are trying to snuggle my face off, I wouldn't even know you have cats!!" Get yourself a Litter Genie, scoop on the daily, have happy cats, have a less stinky house. YAS!

Only effective way of dealing with cat waste
The Litter Genie system is the only effective way I know to deal with cat waste. The system is easy to set up, use, and reload. It keeps used litter isolated from the rest of your household, minimizes your contact with cat waste, and significantly reduces odors. I keep the two litter boxes for my two cats free from waste and fresh with new litter every two weeks, because cats don't like the smell of their waste any more than we do. The Litter Genie system makes it easy for me to clean the litter box and store wastes out of sight and scent (I keep my box in the garage). It's true, the Litter Genie helps you keep odors down as much as you can. That helps you. It also helps your *cats*. They're happier, less stressed, and more likely to use the litter box rather than some other random part of your house. I can't help you with your indoor-outdoor cats using the great outdoors as a litter box, though. Neither can Litter Genie. Try spraying odor repellent?

Expensive but Convenient
I've been using litter genies for several years now and they definitely have pros and cons, but the pros outweigh the cons for me. Pros: - very convenient for quick cleaning - contain smells and odors incredibly well - each refill can be used for 3 or 4 bags and lasts a while even with 3 cats - fairly easy to use.. once it is full, use the built in cutter to cut the used bag, remove it, re-tie the remaining bag to create a new bottom for the next bag Cons: - very expensive for essentially plastic bags you tie yourself (but thats the price of convenience I suppose!) - I often end up cutting each bag too long or pulling the new bag too much and end up with the last "bag" being super short and not working properly - when cutting and tying off a new length of bag you are almost guaranteed to get dirty litter on your hands, etc. as you are re-tying a bag that has been holding dirty litter in it Overall these are worth it if you want the convenience and don't mind getting your hands a little dirty. However, they are pretty expensive.

Does the job
Just as expected! I don’t like how expensive these are but they work. They can hold a lot of litter without breaking and they trap the smells. It’s also pretty convenient to be able to just tie a new bag each week.
