Tempress71350 Rod Holder 6" Extension - Black

I’m using these with some of the Wise rod holders. They do fit in the bases, but they are very tight and kind of a pain to remove.The rod holders do fit in the extensions, but they’re loose enough that they could pop out if you’re not paying close attention and the rod snags or if you get a fish over 5lbs or so. I put a couple wraps of electrical tape on the base of the rod holders to tighten them up in the extensions.I still tied some paracord to the rods while using the extension for some peace of mind.

I bought these things as an extension to my  Wise Side Mount Rod Holders  which needed a couple more inches to clear the gunwales after I mounted them. These worked great and feel very sturdy! The one thing to note is that it does take some force to pop the bottom connector into the old mount. They aren't meant to slide out and rotate like the rod holder assembly is. You just shove them into place and they stay put. The top part does allow the rod holder assembly to pop out and rotate as intended.

Doesn’t fit my Mr, Crappie rod base. I thought I would get it a little higher with this product for my 4 rod spider holder but it doesn’t fit inside the base at all.....Unless I cut out a hole for this product to fit into, too long!

These do fit tight, i have found out after they go in the receiver, before the "star" locks in, you can turn it and then finish locking it in place. It does get it up high enough that my rods work over my gunnels.

My base mounts for the fish on rod holder was a little low for my inboard outboard boat sides, couldn't. Rotate them, so I found these 6 inch rod holder extensions on amazon. They work great, got the holder up away from gunnel , and at a better height, can now rotate holder . A little hard to get extensions out, I assume after a little more use they will smooth out and be easier to remove . I found they work great for my application , as always amazon had great delivery fairly fast. Durable product,should last a long time.

The base of the extension attaches to the mount on the boat in a completely different direction than the rod holder would mount. It is 180 degrees off. Also on a couple of my rod holders when attached to the extension, no matter what direction the rod holder is facing it can be pulled off the extension.Where if the same rod holder was attached to the base it could not be pulled off. Definitely needs to be improved.

The extension is a good fit and does elevate but very flimsy any boat movement at all sends rods moving all over I paired mine up with the Wally Marshall with 3 crappie rods maybe I had to many the holder is made for 4 rods but in Indiana we can only use three, wont use the extension anymore just going to modify the base by adding my own extension under the mount probably work real good mounted to the bank

Tney match up to the fish on rod holder perfectly, but a little pricey for two chunks of molded plastic.
