The Rational Male - Positive Masculinity, Volume 3

Praxeology
The challenge of reviewing a Rational Male book, in my experience, comes from the nature of its content. The latest in the series, Positive Masculinity, is no exception. The key to evaluating this book is putting its ideas into practice in everyday life interactions with women. To dismiss the content as too theoretical is a rookie mistake. The writings make for valuable reference guides and are highly actionable. I've found myself re-reading passages in Rollo's past offerings several weeks, or even months, after the fact in order to apply a concept to my particular situation at the time. Ultimately, that's what I anticipate from Positive Masculinity as well. A gift that keeps on giving. The book is not without its share of flaws. As an avid reader of Rollo's blog going on several years and having digested the previous two books, none of the material presented here was particularly novel or surprising. However, it's apparent Rollo continues to hone his thoughts to convey them more effectively to a lay audience and distill his message into a more powerful and compact format.Lastly, this material is truly deserving of a better proofreader as typos and grammatical/stylistic errors abound. Again, minor concerns that don't detract from the message overall, although some extra polish wouldn't hurt going forward. Especially given the audience for these books may continue to grow with increased publicity (Amazon category ranks as a sign of things to come?)TL;DR Would recommend this book to any man, primarily those interested in sexuality, manhood, and/or evolutionary psychology, in addition to the other two Rational Male books as companion reading.

Reading again!
This review is for the print version. The highest praise I can give any book is that I want to read it again. Fewer still are the books which posses such depth that I not only want, but need to read again. Mr. Tomassi's grasp of sexual dynamics (and impact to us as Men) is at as deep as Mr. Nassim Taleb's grasp of risk. This book gave me hope via embracing reality.Mr. Tomassi's grammar (or editing?) is much improved in this book. As a result, it's an easier read than his earlier work. It's satisfying to see such a bright mind improve his writing so that his ideas come across easier. The book itself is quite nice. Beautiful cover, nice binding, heavy weight paper, and a great layout make it an enjoyable physical product. If you haven't read his first book "The Rational Male", start there. Do not start with this bookThank you Mr Tomassi for sharing your insight!

Eye Opening
First off, if you just happened upon this title for the first time be aware that it is the third in a sequential series starting with simply "The Rational Male." The compelling title makes this fact easy to overlook even though it's clearly stated in the description. You really do have to have read the previous two books to get the full benefit of this one.And what benefits! If you're male you've probably noticed how just being you is wrong in this world. And females pretty much get to have their cake and eat it too, to no real benefit. That's because over the past several centuries western culture has morphed into a female-centric value system that denies the value of masculinity. It's such an immersive paradigm that the typical male has almost no points of reference for understanding what's going on.That's where Rollo comes in. He systematically deconstructs where things have gone wrong and how men (and women) can get back on track. "The Rational Male" series of books is both broad and deep in it's ultimately practical approach to re-balancing male-female relationships. Rollo's coverage of the subject is comprehensive, as it needs to be due to societies complete subversion of the natural biological order. Reading these books will give you a completely new perspective and the tools to make the best choices whatever circumstances you may find yourself in.

Book of the ages
This book is a good start for a young man trying to figure out what direction they should go in life. As well as prioritizing yourself first before others. It's a good read, and something I would recommend for my kids when they come of age.

This Book Saves Lives
This book puts relationships between men and women into proper perspective. The author’s writing is atrocious, but his ideas are brilliant and important. Every teenaged boy should read this book. It will prevent heartache, and literally has saved lives.

Lots of data provided and an easy read
Overall a very interesting and informative book. The only drawback would be in the editing. The proofreader missed multiple errors.

The best of the 3 volumes.
I think this is the best of the three books bc it has more plain language in explaining situations. Though not perfect about it, the book like the others many times uses difficult language that's hard to comprehend. I found myself after reading a volume going online looking to see if someone has a layman's summary of the book. A friend of mine read some of it and even though he has a lesser education said, if it's not written for a simple man to understand then why bother. When parts are made clear it was brilliant but overall is still an good read. Being an alpha seems to be the answer to it all. So someone may have a book on how to be alpha and you follow that and this book does explain that women wanna live it up in their early 20s but wanna settle down by their 30s but a guy's value goes up in their 30s and he wants to play the field. Study this book or wait for someone to write a simpler summary later but other than the complicated writing it's insightful.

An obligation to every man to read this book.
I just read the three books of the Rational Male. It changed my mentality and make me see the world as it is. I lived as a beta until now. These books taught me how to improve myself. If you are looking for a life change this is the starting point.

it's simply a must read for all men
Not only it's a must read book for all men , it's imperative for the understand of real male -female interactions, not what mainstream media throw up every day in the head of young guy's (and girls also ) bear in mind the complexity of years of mental conditioning we were face with to fully understand the writings in this book. If someone want to understand the dynamics of human inter-genders relationships ,I'll repeat myself ,it's simply a must read. Don't like the fonts ? get some reading glasses , and try to open your eyes, and your mind ,it's life changing .
