Be ready for trade offs to get really grippy.
After three months of use in dry, wet, and snowy conditions, my take is that I’m not sure the extra tread is worth the extra weight. I got the shoes because I run very rocky trails and wanted something that would really grip in lots of conditions. Unfortunately, because it’s quite a maximal sole, I lose a sense of presence with the ground that my other shoes provide which offsets the benefit of the extra grip. I feel I’ve rolled my ankles a little more often in these than in my other shoes as well. The extra grip of the sole seems to have also come at the cost of arch support. All that said, after a longer break in period than I’m used to, the shoes do seem a little more “present” as I run now.

Cushy, with ankle lock. Grippy tread. Go a half size down.
Plush ride, yet supportive ankle. Wish I had ordered more at that price.Large toe box, fits bigger than other running shoes by 1 to .5 sizes. However, the ankle lock is great. Size down for this year's model ( iso 3) and you should be happy. Is there a comparable road shoe? Please make this shoe with a road tread.I would be pleased to purchase. The most comfortable shoe I own. My use is mixed trail via fast hiking and backpacking with some roads for looping. Not sure of the rain resistance yet, but it looks more resistant than typical road shoe.

Runs small, order a size up!
The shoes offer great heel support for those that pronate, or supinate. The cushioning is ample, but with a .4 drop at the toes. The great craftsmanship can be seen/felt through most of the shoe, but the eyelets for the laces are constructed from a hard/brittle plastic. The toe mesh has a few layers, so they can withstand some abuse.BIGGEST CON: they run small and are narrow through the toe box.Order one size up. If you have wide feet, anywhere near a D, these shoes will kill your feet. They are tight AF.This shoe is not a great fit for me with wide feet, but if that is not an issue for you, they are a great option.

too long
I agree with the reviews that say go down a size. Definitely longer than my othr 10s. But I am not sure they are wider. I did not want to re-order a size smaller, because my little toe was tight against the edge. I also had one heal slipping very badly, while the other did not. I do have heal slip issues with some shoes. The top is mesh and stretchy, no tongue. Makes them a little hard to get on and no loop on the heal to help. There is a lot to like about the shoe. Maybe if I find one in a store that I can try on, I would try a size smaller. I gave three stars, because fit is everything in a shoe.

Excellent Shoe for Cross Country Running
I bought these for my 17 year old son for his high school cross country practice. He asked for 10.5. But I took a chance and got size 10. And they are a perfect fit. So these shoes might be running just a tiny bit big. Which may be a good thing for running shoes. The fit & finish is great! The colors are vibrant. He likes these shoes. We might have to get a back-up pair.

Great purchase
Bought these for stay in Portland, OR, and have been very pleased. They're comfortable, fit true to size, and very grippy & stable on rocks and dirt due to the deep lugs. Lots of cushion makes a springy step, and though they're a little heavier than some, you hardly notice (you do feel it a little on asphalt). One con is that they aren't really the best-looking, but I wasn't really concerned about that when I got them.

Comfortable and true to size
I bought these trail runners for my husband as a wedding present. He usually likes to try shoes on before he buys them and can be pretty particular, but these were comfortable right out of the box. They're a little harder to get into due to the attached (gusseted) tongue, but they fit perfectly once they're on. The design helps keep dirt and debris out. He's also gotten several compliments on the style and color.

Over priced
Very comfortable once I put in a aftermarket insole. The traction is great and very stable base. The heal took 3 days to break in for me. I've been wearing them every day for the past 2 months and have no complaints except they are WAY over priced. They feel like any other decent trail shoe.

Molto belle e ben costruite.

Good for running in dry conds’
I’m a UK based frequent Xc/trail runner with ten years of it under my belt. Not getting any younger I wanted a good quality shoe with good cushioning that would protect my ageing knees and allow me to go from pavement to trail to muddy track. They are well cushioned, lightweight and hold my feet. They grip well in all conditions and I can run from my front door to the hills and over them. But, they are clearly not designed for wet, soggy UK conditions in that the uppers hold water, have no run off/out options and the padding/fabric gets soggy and stays soggy. If you want something for dry gravelly, loose conditions and for keeping your pace on the hard pack paths in between these are great but if you’re one for blasting through puddles and mud the uppers let you down.

Comfort and protection
I’ve completed 2 longer runs (15-20m) in these shoes to break them in and have been delighted!I made the shift to trial running and have always been pleased with my Salomon shoes although found them lacking in ankle support (other than that they are great). I took a chance on the Iso3 and have not looked back.Excellent traction on the sole, I’ve had no issues in mud, fields and smaller rocky segments. Your foot fits into the shoe almost like a glove and feels comfortable and protected. I have to run a couple of miles to reach the trails and the shoes cope with small road sections (although I wouldn’t recommend longer road runs). The cushioning has impressed me (you do gain 3 inches in height!) You do not feel stones and no signs of sore knees after a few hours of running.Overall, for shorter faster easier trails (5-10k) I would still use my Salomon’s as they are lighter. Although for anything longer or more technical I would much prefer to be wearing my iso3’s for comfort and a great sense of protection.
