It’s much better than the Italian country style one. Unlike the (Mikasa) Italian country bowls, these are thicker- less likely to crack, has a good weight, doesn’t get hot in the microwave and it’s a good size. Overall I was very pleased with these that I ordered another set.

I got a set of Mikasa Antique White dinnerware, but their bowls are too huge and deep. I research and find that Mikasa French Countryside has very similar patterns and I thought I'd give it a try. What a pleasant surprise! First, they DO match with Antique White in terms of color and pattern. Second, the bowls are very well made with quality material and texture. Most of all, the size and shape are perfect. They are generous and stylish. They are perfect for cereal, salad, snack, and as Chinese rice bowls. I remember 30 years ago when few dinnerware has "bowls", now they do but many are of weird shapes. French Countryside bowls are the rare exception. I got 8 of them and I am very very happy :)

Was happy to find these as they match my existing French Countryside set. They are a little larger than I thought they’d be but are very handy. They hold a generous portion of soup or cereal, and are perfect for holding sides for a smaller family’s meals. They are microwave and dishwasher safe.

Purchased as extras for my set, 3 meals daily for 3x adults working at home during pandemic requires more dishes. Be aware, thick stoneware won't fit in dishwashers like thin, light weight flatter dishes such as Corelle, or common department store brands. You'll need more space on the rack, or to adjust rack height or fold down a row of tines to hive them enough space to fit without crowding so the water hits them & so they get clean. Like most stone/china/porcelain/glass dinnerware, metal utensils will leave visible gray marks like pencil marks. Once in a while I while handwashing, I use a little non-abrasive cleaner like A-Ben-A-Qui, Bar Keeper's Friend or Bon Ami on a damp (not dripping wet) cloth or sponge to remove the marks easily & make them look brand new.

The item was described as white but it is definitely not white but more cream/beige color.
