Not sharpened!
Liked the quality and the fact that it was made at the Santa Barbara factory in Toledo, Spain and has both stamps. Like the way it feels in the hand. There is however an issue. It is not sharpened. Looks like somebody went with the grinder all around the edge. In some areas of the edge the flatness is around 1mm, which is a lot of material missing. It would take a lot of work to bring it to apex. Maybe it was done as part of the demil process. Anyhow, to sharpen this without destroying the geometry of the blade or the integrity, would require equipment that I don't have or a professional who knows how to sharpen bayonets. It would probably cost as much as I paid for it.To be fair, I did some reading on bayonets. Seems like there is a consensus that a lot of bayonets have been issued unsharpened and sharpening it would make it lose value. When I was in the service my bayonet was sharp and we were issued sharpening stones. Don't see the use for a dull knife. If you're just looking for a semi historic piece for a collection, this is really nice. If you're looking for function, it is not this.
