EZ-Troll Fishing Boat Motor Tray, Black

Did a bunch of research on recessed trays and decided to go with ezTroll. The installation instructions are straight forward and fairly simple. The hardest part was making the initial cut into the carpeting with a razor blade. It is at this point that you know deep down that if you make this cut there is NO turning back..your all in. That being said I took the leap and followed the install instructions to a T.The deck has some weird half cut thick cardboard tubes layered in fiberglass and foam as support and though the cut easily I ran into a roadblock as the length of the jigsaw blade wasnt enough to make it all the way thru. Found some 6" to replace the 3 &3/4" and Walla...hole cut out!! Tray fit as advertised and the ultrex pedal sits just above flush. The only issue was the screa used to fasten tray to deck. They are cheap and you WILL strip them out. Take this advice and purchase some GOOD stainless hardware as replacement before using the supplied screws.I read a few reviews bout this thing being flimsy...honestly if swung hard enough you could take out a pack of wolves with this thing. Its sturdy...its stiff. There is little to no flex in its construction. Not sure what others got in the mail but mine is just what I was hoping for.

I have put off getting this for some time. I've been 15 years without, so why get it now. Well I will tell you. Easier to balance on rough water days and easier on this old back. It did take away from some of the room in my rod locker, because in my boat its in the center, but I can still get all my rods in it, just have to be careful. Glad I got this. it is a great tool for the boat.

I'm like it alot. It was bigger than it thought and second guessing if i should cut this thing in my boat but did it anyway and it is AWESOME. I've made my last two being in custom Jon boats and were a much more custom fitting than this. If your skilled in carpentry or even just alittle like myself this will be a breeze, center your template tape it off entirely drill some holes on each corner and jigsaw inside the tape. My ranger is filled with foam and that was a pain removing.Helpful tip: make sure you have a small amount of wiggle room when you test fit the tray in the floor, if you have to force the tray down and screw it to the floor even just a little, you will have a warped tray in the near future.

Update: just installed my second ez-troll tray. Sold my last boat and just now getting around to installing on my new boat. War Eagle 860. I did have to cut through a brace, but deck is still solid. I still give it 5 stars and highly recommend you add this to your boat. If I ever sell this boat, I will order my third ez troll. Great trolling motor tray. Instructions are spot on and the included template is awesome. It took some courage to make that first cut but if you commit to it it is worth it. No more back pain after a long day of fishing.

Took about 2 hours total for the install. I watched a few videos on Youtube and everything went surprisingly smooth. The product itself is solid, but I echo what others have said about the low-quality screws included with the tray, I definitely recommend upgrading those.

Installed myself, I’m a big guy and it’s sturdy for my weight. Larger footprint then some of the other ones out there on the market so it fits my big foot. Going from having the pedal on the deck to having it in the pan saves my hip and back. Will never fish without it again on my boat.

Other than the price is somewhat high (IMO). I am more than satisfied. It was easy to install with great instructions. screws. and template. I would do it again
