Energy For Women
As a 49 year old woman, I am concerned with staying healthy and keeping my energy levels up. I was researching the causes of fatigue in women in my age range and discovered, to my surprise, that we often do not get enough protein! I was under the impression Americans, generally speaking, got plenty of protein, so this was news to me. My first thought is always, "Research!" so I got to googling. There are signs of not having enough protein. One of the main ones is craving sugar, a biggie for me. Protein helps keep blood sugar steady, so if you don't have enough, your blood sugar is all over the place, often making you want some candy or soda for a quick fix. Fatigue, or feeling foggy is another one. I was having days where it felt like I was trying to wake up all day. Hair thinning and loss was another one that struck me, along with feeling weak, as in unable to do things you could once do, and getting sick (colds, 'flu, aches and pains) more often. Apparently, this isn't just about getting older! The recommended amount of protein is 50 to 150 grams per day. I mostly don't eat meat, and I saw that just drinking milk and the cheese on my sandwich wasn't getting it done. I started to research alternate methods of protein, since I also don't eat very much meat or fish. Whey protein is the protein from cow's milk. It is the cheese-making by-product that used to be thrown away until research proved how nutritious it was. Soy is also a good source of protein if you like that. I don't really, and also whey protein is more readily absorbed by the body. I also don't like mixing powders, so I am picky, but I finally found whey protein in a capsule form, and I couldn't be happier with it. My energy is up and I don't feel nearly as foggy. As a small caveat, I would start out with about half the recommended dosage, as it at first caused me to become irregular in my bathroom habits. You will want to add in more fiber, or perhaps some Aloe Vera. As I became more used to the product, this subsided until I was regular again, I would say in about three weeks. If you are an older woman like me, and are feeling sluggish, etc. I recommend this product. You won't be sorry!

Still taking them
Bought for my husband who doesn't like the mixes for shakes, which he thinks have a chalky taste even if you try to flavor them. You have to take a lot of these to get the same proportion though.
