Works exactly as described. With the combination of our ethernet switch and the two splitters, we're simultaneously running hard lines to our Xbox/TV and a laptop in a third floor bedroom. As a result, we can now run the max potential of our gigabyte connection (wifi speeds are horrendous), though it's unfortunate the splitter caps at 100mbs!

With this, I'm finally able to split up my ethernet connections without significant loss in the up/downstreams. Works perfectly once you use the adapters as explained in the diagrams. I'm ow able to connect shorter wires together to reach far off desktops in my house.

Not a splitter and now the time to return is past. Please read very carefully.This product is not a splitter as in a device that takes one cord/connection and splits it into two.It is an extender. You can take two cords, combine them into one cord to run the length of your desired distance and then turn it back into two connections. The only apparent function here is having to run only one cord the full length instead of two, which is pointless because instead of two cords you would need 5 cords (2 initial, 1 long, 2 end) not to mention the two connectors.I don't know why anyone would go to all this trouble purchasing 5 cords and 2 extenders (more hassle and expense).
