Wonderful artist but repulsive writing
I am inspired by the work of Sarah Sze and was excited to see more images and read more about her work- this is not the book for either. The photography is well done but but rather cold and uninspiring. Her work soars, but the photos, while interesting, are a bit clinical. All that would be fine, but the prose is honestly some of the worst art speak crapola I have ever read. There are numerous writers in the book, some of whom are interesting, but the worst is Benjamin Buchloh who takes up most of the book writing in such hyperbolic inflated insipid language that we took turns reading it aloud like a skit. It is this sort of writing that turns people off from art. Her work engages and thrills the viewer on many levels... but this book, particularly the writing, is a huge turn off.
