This makes a for an extremely cute gift for cat lover (and maybe even non-cat lovers!). The cat is not soft, it is the hard type with fur. The size is as mentioned, few people have reviewed it is very small. Yes it is rather small, but that is the size mentioned in the product description, so expect a small cat. The meow sound is high-pitched but pleasing to hear. Looks very nice kept on the centre table in living room.
