Golden GAC 200 Acrylic Series Medium 8-Ounce (0003920-5)

I am a professional artist and I paint piece work on glass that is sold all over the country from Yellowstone National Park to Gatorade, Mackinac Island, Palm Springs, CA ....Hallmark stores and more.I love the rich pigment of Golden paint but I needed to reduce tack and add a more permanent finish. I add the GAC 200 and it works beautifully. I can control the viscosity and opacity without compromising the integrity of a long lasting design. It works beautifully on our hand painted crystal nailfiles as well. Gives a long lasting finish!I highly recommend this product.

I bought this to add to acrylic paint that was being painted on a sheet of clear acrylic. I did some experimenting to see how the paint bonded to the surface with and without to GAC 200. The difference was absolutely noticeable. The paint mixed with GAC 200 had a harder finish, almost like nail polish, and resisted repeated scratching. The opacity of the paint was clearer with the GAC. Some colors had noticeable crazing happening on the underside (the bottom of the paint viewed through the clear pane of plastic). The top of the paint did not have crazing. Transparent hues seemed to bond better and have a harder finish than opaque paints. The GAC 200 alone dries very clear and had a great bond with the plastic surface. Brush strokes were still visible.

Makes my base coat on hand poured stones much more durable. No paint lifting, beautiful.

In my research, the recommendation to seal gold foil on art projects to keep them from losing the shiny sheen was important. I purchased the Golden GAC 200 for this purpose. To my surprise the shiny gold foil color tarnished. In all fairness, the quality of the gold foil I purchased could have been the problem. The Golden GAC 200 was highly recommended and I will try using it again. My rating was middle of the road as at this time I cannot accurately rate the Golden GAC 200.

We use this to consolidate deteriorating paint on antique furniture.Experiment before going to town with it, but its easy to use and clean up.
