My wife loves it!
My wife wanted a new (and sharper) knife for slicing vegetables, so I got her this for Christmas. All I can say is...SHE LOVES IT! I dare not touch it or she'll say "THAT'S MY KNIFE!" She has let me use it though, and yes, it's sharp and cuts veggies very well and effortlessly. We haven't had it long enough to rate how long it holds an edge, but I suspect with regular "honing" it will perform well. It's well balanced and she likes the way it feels in her hand. Can't really say much about rust resistance as we always wash it by hand and dry immediately. It's probably versatile enough for slicing smaller cuts of meat, but we have other knives for that, so it's mostly relegated for veggie slicing. This knife comes highly recommended by me..and, I think it safe to say, by my wife, too.

So light. So sharp. So precise. So Well-Balanced
So light. So sharp. So precise. So well balanced--I can hold it by the handle or hold it by neck where the blade and handle meet. This knife is like a dream. Cuts through vegetables so easily whether chopping, slicing, julienning. Makes prep work go by quickly (and enjoyably). And it is really affordable compared to other knives I was looking at like Shun, Kyocera, etc. This knife out of the box was sharper than my ceramic knives. And I since it's made of metal and not brittle ceramic, I didn't have a second thought when I pounded some garlic with it. I thought the handle was going to be awkward or slippery when wet. It's neither. The handle is very comfortable and I had not problem with grip.I'm not a professional chef, I just like to cook at home and have the right tools for the job. I love my new knife!!! The size 5 1/2" is perfect and probably the one I will use most often. But now that I like this so much, I am going to get the GS5-7inch too for bigger jobs. And I think I will pick up a set for my mom as well. These knives have so many great reviews. I don't know why I was so skeptical before. Love!!!

One of the best knives you'll ever buy
Global makes the best knives, and I have the full set. They are sturdy, and the bread knife is the best for cutting through hard, thick, crusty French bread. You can cut very thin slices without smashing the bread. Once you try the knife, you will want more knives. I am 75, and I have cooked for many years. I've had all of the most expensive knives, and I think the Global knives are the best.

Excellent knife!
Really love this knife. I’d chop tons of vegetables almost every day and this really gets the job done. It feels good in your hand. It sharpens really nicely – make sure you get a knife sharpener as it dulls pretty quickly. It works as well as the day I got it, and still looks perfect. No scratches, no dings.Highly recommend if you need a real workhorse in the kitchen.

Wonderful for vegetables
I am a chef and have been looking for my new favorite knife. I have found three and An happy to share my spot for favorite. This knife from global is perfect for chopping vegetables. It is very comfortable to hold, razor sharp, light weight, and slices vegetables with ease. It’s not great for meat. Something heavier like a wusthof Is my preference for meat. Victorinox has some very good, very affordable knives that are a little more versatile yet with a less interesting design. I’m hoping I won’t have to buy one again, soon, but not if I do, I will absolutely spend money for this knife.

Awesome - Love it - Using it a lot
The 7" knife was recommended to me https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0006A03QA/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1 and I got both. Mu hands are medium size - I like the 5.5" knife much better! It also costs a lot less, so if you are on the fence, I can say I have tested both and for my medium hands prefer this one!The 7" knife has a wider blade and I use it to cut cake, ha ha, but for veggies, I prefer the smaller one. Both awesome knives, though not for the dishwasher, i believe. Not a problem for me since I use mine every day and just rise and re-use frequently. Great asset on my new vegan journey - a pleasure to work with this knife. Makes all the difference as it cuts greens and harder to slice items with ease and precision. Don't touch the blade, though. Ask me how I know! =DGot this to sharpen when needed and hope to use this knife a long time!https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0000A33LJ/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1
