Short read covering useful, but general ideas
I read and facilitated discussions on this book as part of a small group at church. This book focuses on some key basic, but very important, principles in terms of making a real difference in the lives of youths we disciple. Even though the book is written with youth group leaders in mind, the principles (because they're so general) is easily applicable to other age groups as well. The generality of this book is both is strength and weakness. I found myself longing for some more details in the book - concrete ideas and skills, or examples of how to effectively apply the principles with different types of youths/parents - and those weren't present. The book can be easily read in 1 hour for quick readers. There are a lot of blank spaces to journal and liberal use of large font sizes and line breaks. It's a thin book. With that said, this is a nice book to read as part of a small group as it's easily understandable and can generate discussion if facilitators consider discussion questions ahead of time.HAIKU SUMMARY:"Lead Small" is small bookConcise, understandableIt's a basic read

A good summery of a Small Group Leader role to help ...
A good summery of a Small Group Leader role to help you catch a glimpse of the bigger picture. This is a good book to get a serious discussion on how you and your church can start a small group of your own. However, if you are looking into a small group leader program, I wouldn't stop at just this book alone. Careful consideration should be taken before making such a commitment. This goes especially for those that do not naturally possess the gift of teaching and/or counseling. This book is a great place to begin the thought process.

Awesome book!
This book is great! We use it to train team leaders at our church. Our position is that every team leader is a small group leader. We've seen great fruit from it!Only 4 stars because (I ordered 5 copies) one of the copies that I received was printed backwards. Meaning that the book started at the right and read toward the left. The "last" page was where the book started. Weird, huh?

Some solid principles for those starting out
A great introduction for those who are starting out in small group ministry or for those leading the leaders. A reminder for anyone who has done it before but wants to bring it back to the basics.
