My first experience with the Lily cup
Hello! This is my first time using a lily cup, I'm 23 and I've been researching this baby for over a year. I had my doubts and concern but for the most part most women seem pleased with it. And I wanted to move away from the tampon anyways.MY EXPERIENCE:So I bought this 2 days before my period started and it arrived on Day 1 of my period. I wasn't bleeding too much and I was actually having trouble putting the cup in(I actually didn't fold it right lol) so at first I was abit worried. The next night I started bleeding more heavily so I opted for a second try, (WITH THE CORRECT FOLDING TECHNIQUE) she slide right in with no problems. This was before I trimmed the stem, and only by using the lily cup I realized my cervix sits kinda high up. When I walked around I could feel the stem, it wasn't uncomfortable but I definitely knew it was there, if I was sitting I couldn't feel it, although when I sneezed I could feel it move lol. Now, on the morning of Day 3, I decided I need to pull it out and clean it since I wore it to sleep, I have to tell you I was having extreme difficulties pulling out the cup. I tried to pull on the stem but it was so high up and my fingers were getting really slippery so I would fail every time. I did a deep squat and tried to move my vaginal muscles to push it downwards and it would move down just an inch but not enough for me to grab. I panicked for abt 45 minutes, I looked up how to remove it and it said to keep your body relaxed. Trust me I was freaking out at this point. I was worried I was going to have to ask my boyfriend to help me, but after another 15 minutes or so I was able to calm down and literally(in the deep squatting position) force my muscle to push the cup down. It took several tries but when it was finally long enough for me to grab I used a small piece of toilet paper to grab and pull the sucker out.Once out I dumped the blood and cleaned it and then with a lot of thought I inserted back in.FINAL THOUGHTS: I do love the lily cup, but the only thing that I had troubles with was taking it out. The first night was great but the morning after was terrifying lol. I clean out my cup every 8 hours just to be on the safe side, I still have troubles with it and sometimes I think a tampon would be easier, but I didn't pay $40 for nothing lol. I know I am still new to this so once I can get my body to just push it out without thinking is when I know I'll be able to use this forever, but until then I may have to deal with mini panic attacks that it's lost in the abyss lol.EDIT: 8/9/18I have been using this same cup for 2 years! This cup has definitely saved me time from going to buy a pack of tampons and I don't have to worry about if I'll overflow, never have I once overflowed with this. Like in my early review I usually take it out every 8 hours, 10-11 if I'm lazy and I don't have much issue with pulling it out. I still have to use a small piece of toilet paper but thats not a big deal, I've come to realize that if the cup unfolds, before I completely insert it, and I still shove it in, I will have major cramps. So I've been careful to not do that. I believe it's something with not having enough air so the cup suctions tightly and can cause pain. But other than that I've been careful to not let it unfold. So you would imagine that having this cup for over 2 years that it would be stained and yes it has been stained GREATLY. I wish I had pictures to show but I do boil it every once in a while and after that I bought a cheap walmart spin brush for like $7 and I would use summer's Eve soap to clean it and it takes a little bit, but running it under warm water and using the spin brush can definitely clear up the stain. I know you can use other soap but Summer's Eve is good to me and doesn't irritate my skin so I would assume using it on a product that goes into my clown hole would be the best thing lmao.

Great for high cervix! But getting ait open can be difficult...
I bought both the size A and the size B of the Lily cup original after the quiz on Put A Cup In It website suggested it for me and my high cervix. (Which I didn't know was even a thing!)I had tried the Diva cup on and off through the years with horrible success. It was just too hard and migrated too far up that getting it out was nothing short of traumatic most of the time!So I first ordered the size A of the Lily Cup and it is MUCH softer and more flexible than the Diva cup. It is also much MUCH longer than both sizes of the Diva. The first month I tried size A I had a heck of a time getting it to get a seal. Especially on my heavy day, it leaked horribly. The other days it did a so-so job.I didn't want to give up on the brand as the cup itself is very well made and its so soft and compared to how irritating the Diva was for me, the Lily was a godsend! So I did some research and decided to order the size B as it is a bit larger, the rim is wider, and it is a tad firmer overall than the smaller size.At first this month was going fantastic! The first day I got the size B open every time and got a good seal! PERFECT! I was excited! But then my super heavy days started. I ended up over filling the cup twice and after that I just could not get a good seal anymore. I don't know if my walls were too slippery or if my cervix shifted or what. After some trouble shooting and research I found that your vaginal walls can change during your period so I ended up switching to the large Venus cup as it is a bit firmer and it opens much easier. (I had found that brand while researching cups and the price was right to order it the same time I did the Lily size B)When I did get the Lily cup to open and seal, it was great. No problems. But this seemed, for whatever reason, to be impossible on my heaviest days. When it did seal it was easy to break the suction and remove the cup. It was comfortable to both insert and remove as well as easy to reach! (big issue for me and the Diva cup!)I also noticed that because the Lily cup is so soft that when it's inside it almost seems to collapse in on itself. The rim itself is open and it is sealed but the cup itself is all squished together and doesn't keep its shape much at all. (At least from what I can tell if I feel around) This is probably fine on light days but I think it is why it over flowed on my heavy day really fast. Because of this it is really hard to get the cup to open if it doesn't right away. With the Venus cup I push against the cup and wiggle it around a bit and it opens, the Lily cup I have to remove and try again. That being said, the cup works if the seal can be achieved but it IS harder to get it open right and failure usually ends up in taking it out, rinsing and trying again. Granted, I may just need more time with the cup to become perfect with it but I think on my heavy days the ticket for me is using the Venus cup large while the other days the Lily cup seems to be just fine. (At least that's my game plan since I have both brands!)In conclusion the Lily Cup really is a great cup. It's well made, it's very soft, and its long for women with a high cervix. However, I'm taking off a star for how difficult it is sometimes to get it to pop open right and get a good seal. Also, at least for me, it seems like it squishes together making the cup hold less.Just some points to consider. What works for me may not work for you. But I am generally happy with this cup, I just wish it worked perfectly every single time. I will keep it around (especially the size B) for my lighter days.

Not for heavy flows
Really wanted to like this and make the switch. It is simply too small for my flow, apparently. I'll save it for lighter days.
