Not the best option
Hard to use. Doesn't crush well. Hard to clean. I do like that their are no extra pieces on the handles to take off and wash like my good grips one had but other than that I don't really like it. It is not comfortable in your hand either and you have to squeeze really hard.

Looks as pictured, Does not work as described.
I purchased this after a friend mentioned that she uses her press (not this item, another brand that is no longer available) daily. I find this difficult to use, it simply smashes garlic and very little comes through, leaving you with a chunk of smashed garlic inside the cavity of the press. I have tried large, small or cut pieces, fresh bought vs. refrigerated pieces - none of this has made a difference. The item has a nice feature of the "teeth" so that you can push out the pieces left over in the holes while washing but you do have to arrange them precisely as they don't exactly line up. That being said, it washes well and looks as pictured.I use a lot (!) of garlic and was really hoping that this would work but I will donate it and will not purchase another.

Not As Good As I Wanted
I wanted to love this garlic press. It looks like an old one my mom had from Pampered Chef that I used to love using (but is much cheaper). Also liked that it didn't come in a bunch of different little pieces you had to clean. That said, this press just didn't seem to do a great job with the garlic. Maybe the prongs are a little too short or maybe my grip is just too weak to really crush it, but with nice big fresh cloves of garlic, I couldn't get that much minced garlic to come out of the holes and found a lot of the garlic wasted in the basket. I asked my husband who has better grip strength than me to try it. He had a bit more success but agreed the press wasn't anything special. As a plus, it is easy to wash, and it seems sturdier than other reviews suggest, but I find myself not bothering to use it because it doesn't do the greatest job.

This is a great garlic press
This is a great garlic press. It has everything that I was looking for in a garlic press.Pros:-Built from only a few solid pieces of metal.-Can be inverted, and second set of teeth will push out any stuck garlic.-Good leverage to crush garlic.Cons:-This press seems to be "plated" in stainless steel. I am worried that it will start to chip away over time. I will update this review if it does, but depending on the severity, I would still keep it at 5 stars.

Very Good Garlic Press for the price
Good product for the price. I bought this one for someone as a gift and we tried it. It is probably better than most garlic presses available in the store. But, Pampered Chef does have it beat. I don't have a Pampered Chef representative in my area, and they are too pricy to buy online.

Certainly seemed nice....
I thought it was really great but I have had it less than a month and it has broken already. It was only a single clove as well and not even a particularly big one that dig it in.I'm hoping the vendor will replace it.

Keep looking
I keep looking for a good garlic press, unfortunately this is not it. A lot of garlic pressed out the sides, the pins to clean out the garlic didn't do much at all so it was difficult to clean, and it was more difficult to press the garlic than with my cheap 15 year old press. I wish someone would come up with a good garlic press.

Excellent except for one important flaw
Pros: solid construction appears sturdy, and doesn't trap water, comfortable, cleaning pins metal and integralCons: holes smaller than some other presses, which don't allow the passage of drier garlic and gingerIf it weren't for the con I'd give it five stars, but its an important one for me.
