Fantastic but see my cautions
Update:I've used easily over 1,000 of these and can't remember having a single bad burn due to the disc itself.Original Review:These don't look like the ordinary cd-r (in a good way)! The glossy white water resistant top gives a very nice professional look. The bottoms are silver (not blue or green like most) and finish off the professional appeal. In addition these feel thicker and consequently don't flex as much compared to the average cd-r. I haven't had a bad burn yet out of about 20 discs. I highly advise letting them dry for at least a few minutes after printing. A few times they appeared dry only for me to put a fingerprint smudge on the art which couldn't be wiped off.Compared to matte finish silver cd-rs (the only comparison I can personally make) these are hands down more professional looking. The art looks much more vibrant and accurate (no surprise there, white vs silver base).Take caution:I did a little testing with a misprint I made and came to these conclusions. A light drag of a finger nail will mark the top. It won't take off the print but does show a mark in the coating depending on the angle and lighting. A hard finger nail scratch can take off the print but it does take effort to do this. Also, while they say water resistant, that doesn't mean you can spill a glass of water on one and the art would be fine. It's against moisture and humidity (as is stated in their description). For example, I released a drop of water from my finger onto the surface. It darkened the ink where it landed and became permanent. Really though, as long as they're handled with the same care as any disc media should be, these shouldn't be huge deals.

Great, printable disks
I've gone through a half-dozen different brands of direct printable CDs and found most brands to range from wretched to barely acceptable. Either the lables were fuzzy or the CDs themselves were full of errors and wouldn't record at all (with one brand 43 out of 50 disks failed to record!).So I have been pleasantly surprised by these FalconMedia disks. Here, finally are direct-printable CDs that produce professional looking results and record flawlessly, whether data or audio material. I've recorded over 100 of these disks with 100% success; every disk recorded and verified correctly, and tracked in whatever computer or audio player I put it in. The labels (done on a Canon printer) are crisp, glossy, and look like those on commercially produced CDs.At nearly 80ยข per disk they're a little on the expensive side, but then, so were all the other brands. These work. Recommended.

BEST Printable Compact Disc EVER!
A favorite pasttime of mine is to create my own cd compilations. I do pass them on to friends at times also. After doing this for a few decades now I would tell anybody that these FALCONMEDIA cds are the absolute best, in terms of the final printed display AND (even more importantly!) the sound quality of the burn! I have gone through at least a half dozen 50 pack spindles and have had Zero fail to complete the burn process. The people who receive my cds are amazed at the "store bought" quality! If the day ever comes where I won't be able to find these it will be very sad for me. BEST Printable Compic Disc EVER!!!!

Beautiful print quality, clean reliable burns. A winner.
Proud new owner of a Canon Pixma Pro-100, all set to print CD art. Picked up a batch of Verbatim CD-Rs (https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0001LS35W/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1), and...well, the media layer was beautiful. The print surface was merely adequate. Constant was poor, balance between dark greys and black just wasn't as nice as I knew the printer could deliver...this wasn't the sort of quality I'd just dropped the upgrade money to enjoy.Did a little research, learned about these, and gave 'em a try. Oh yes, there's the nice subtle contrast nuance. There's the greys-into-blacks smooth slope. There's the clear distinction between muddy ochre text and red background. This is the print experience I'd been hoping for.And the media layer? So far, beautiful. Discs burn and verify reliably, no duds yet. I can't speak to longevity, as I've only just bought them, but I can say that my writer loves them, my various CD players love them, and so far, I have nothing but confidence in these discs.I've been a Verbatim and Taiyo Yuden believer for years, but for burning discs where print surface quality is critical, I think I've found my new go-to CD-R.

These worked really well. I didn't have a single dud when I recorded music; they all printed perfectly in my inkjet printer; and they all played perfectly when used in a CD player [Bose] where the CD is pulled into the player [versus those where you set the CD by hand] and they all ejected perfectly. I previously recorded on JVC White Hub Watershield Inkjet CDs which worked great, but I guess they were taken over by CMC Pro TY Technology and every CD from the last batch I ordered wouldn't load properly in my Bose player and then they wouldn't eject. I finally had my husband teach me how to take apart the player so I could remove the CDs.

If you enjoy direct-to-disc printing you'll be amazed with the image quality of these SmartGuard" glossy CD-R's! Sure, in many cases a standard matte finish is appropriate but if a glossy, highly detailed, vibrant (not to mention water repellent) label suites your project you owe it to yourself to check these out! I use SureThing label maker V7 with an Epson Artisan 837 printer with the paper type ("paper" meaning the disc surface) set to "CD/DVD Premium Surface" and the results are excellent. As for the media itself, it scans as "TDK Corporation 5-Phthalocyanine" and I've never had a dud. These discs are more expensive than the common matte finish type but IMO they're well worth it.
