A Must-Have
I'm a first time mom and my son was born July 11, 2015. I'd never heard of this item until I took a breastfeeding basics class and the lactation consultant who taught it highly recommended it. I hesitated in purchasing it at first because I already had a boppy and I didn't want to buy this when I didn't know if I'd like it. I was finally sold after being able to test it out a few times at my lactation consultant appointments. 2 weeks into breastfeeding, I finally had one and started using it.When I received the brestfriend pillow, I put the plastic cover I received it in and put it on the pillow under the cloth cover to protect the foam. It does make the pillow a little noisy, but I haven't found it to be distracting. The pillow is very firm and clips pretty tightly around my waist, providing way more support than the boppy or a mountain of pillows (which I also tried using). If you use the cradle or cross cradle hold, it's easy to lean back and relax once the baby is latched, which makes it easier to handle those long nursing sessions. If you're like me, and you prefer the football hold, all you have to do is rotate the pillow so the thicker portion is on your side to use it. That does render the back support a little useless, but I didn't think the back support was really doing much anyway. I am able to sit in a rocking chair with it, although it's a tight fit. Since it clips high in your waist and there're several inches of space between the bottom of the pillow and your lap, the outside edge will tilt downward a little bit. I found it useful to put a small blanket along my son's back to keep him from rolling. My one knock on this thing is that when you're done, it's a little cumbersome to get off while you're holding the baby. Not because it's hard to unclip with one hand, but because it's big and it's wrapped around you.Overall, this is a great product and I highly recommend it for any breastfeeding mother.

Great for back support
Being a first time mom, I was going back and forth between a Boppy and this and doing a lot of research. Ultimately, I decided on a Boppy due to it having multiple uses. So after a few months of use, there were certain issues I was noticing but the BIGGEST problem was the lack of back support. I had to buy My Brest Friend and have been using it as my main nursing pillow ever since. My baby is 6 months and is 28 inches ( she is a long one) and she still nurses comfortably on it but her legs do stick out somewhat and I do put a pillow under to get her extra comfortable. My Brest Friend is more firm so when the baby lay down, she doesn't sink down making you have to hunch over more.Another problem I had with the Boppy was my baby tend to roll into the gap between the pillow and my body. It became harder to adjust her and she was so close to my body that we both became extreme heating pads for each other. One thing I did not about My Brest Friend was the size. I felt like it could be a bit longer. My baby fits on the Boppy better.

Sturdy, comfortable and versatile
Does not slip:I can clip it around me and not worry about having the pillow slip away while I nurse. I can now truly relax and enjoy breast feeding rather than worry about sore arms.Adjustable height:Thanks to the clip I can buckle it where I want on my torso and adjust the strap length so that it is snug and at the right height.Versatile:When I am not feeding I can still use the pillow to set up a book or work on my laptop.

Gross without the waterproof cover!
I really like most of the features of this pillow—the shape supports my baby, the buckle keeps it firmly in place, and the cushioning in the back keeps me comfortable (as long as I put another pillow above it). My biggest gripe with the pillow is that it gets gross without the waterproof cover. The material easily absorbs liquid, which is a huge bummer when the baby spits up or you have any leakage. After 1 week of use, it started to smell bad to my sensitive nose. Unfortunately, the pillow can’t be washed itself, just spot cleaned. Since I didn’t want to do an intensive spot clean every week, I bought the $20 waterproof cover which almost doubles the price. The special cover is truly a must-have and it should just automatically come with the pillow!

Best nursing pillow I have used.
I have tried a few nursing pillows. The Boppy was my main one. It worked okay. I noticed that my son would sometimes fall in the gap that was created between it and my stomach, that made positioning challenging. I went to a lactation specialist for issues we were having during nursing and I noticed how much easier it was using the pillow they had there, so I did some research. I came across this pillow, looked exactly like the one the lactation specialist had. I bought it and it was perfect for both baby and myself. He had an easier time latching and I was able to maintain a more comfortable position while nursing.Bonus was the pocket. I really didn't think much of having a pocket until I did. I use it to store things I need while nursing - my nipple shields, nipple butter, and a burp cloth. I will sometimes nurse him in different rooms, so it is nice to be able to grab one thing and have everything I need.Downside, the pillow and cover are not waterproof, although you can buy a waterproof slipcover. I simply put a burp cloth or wash cloth under my baby's head when I feed him. He does spit up and drool milk sometimes when feeding him so it has been a little of an issue. Over all, though, it is a great pillow. Also, I did buy a second cover so I could alternate when one got dirty. My second cover is a deluxe cover and I way prefer it over the one it came with and it fits perfectly.

Must have for BF moms
I just LOVE this pillow. My son is 5 mo, and I use this pillow every single time when nursing at home, even during night feedings. It's very comfortable for me, but more important - for my baby. He's relaxed and comfortable while nursing, and both of us are enjoying our bonding time together. I find pocket attached to pillow is very useful for probiotics and vitD drops, this way they are always at hand. It's one of the best maternity purchases.

Not really useful for large-breasted women
My wife did not find this product to be very useful. She is large-breasted and did not have enough "clearance" between the nipple and the pillow. It was kinda all over my baby's face when she was lying on her back on this pillow. Otherwise its a fairly made product. Dont expect it to last a 100 wash cycles

Life and sanity saver! Stays put while feeding.
What a gamechanger! I thought when I saw this pillow that there was no way it would work for us...was I wrong. The breastfeeding clinic recommend this over the boppy, which I already had. The secret gem to this pillow is the buckle! It straps to you and stays in place while you feed. It is beyond fantastic. Super comfy and supportive for baby.

glad I didn't
I was actually going to return this when it arrived as it did not look comfy for baby. Wow, glad I didn't. This has been a lifesaver. It's probably the only reason why I am still breastfeeding now at 5 months. So happy for this purchase and I can't imagine my breastfeeding journey without this.

Good support but awkward to put on
Support is good but it's a pain to get the back part around you. Also, it's on the small side so not great for long or bigger babies.Would work well for smaller women.
