I bought these so I could make pulled pork and chicken from my slow cooked barbecue. They work great for this...the added value for me is the fact that I can lift the pork shoulder off the grill with these too. They seem well made and are easy to grip.

Bought a smoker recently and needed something to move the delicate big shoulder roasts after 12 hours of smoking. Works perfectly! Also fantastic for shredding the shoulder for pulled pork. Have since used them on beef brisket, and even whole chickens in the oven. Have no idea where these simple tools have been my whole life.

I purchased this item as a Christmas present for my son. He loves to cook and create new dishes. His eyes lit up and got huge when he saw these meat claws.The quality of the materials is very high and we look forward to many years of use for this item.

I've only used these once or twice, but they worked really well. Still, I can't help but think, as another reviewer mentioned, that they would be better with an additional tine or two, decreasing the spacing between them. I emailed the company inquiring about the possibility of an update to the product to do this, and never received a response. Still, it's a simple product that you can't really go wrong with, and from what I can see is the best available solution. Certainly much better than using forks.

Pulls pork beautifully. Any meat. Good for making Mexican "stringy beef" dishes and others where the meat must be shredded. I don't get them anywhere near charcoal so I think the name is too limiting. I'm sure the uses are limited only by the imagination. I have used the tongs to pull items from boiling water and toast from the toaster. Handy little gizmos.

Decent quality, but forks should be closer together to provide better tearing of meat.

I happen to smoke pork shoulders several times per year and I have found nothing that helps you pick up a hot pork shoulder off from the smoker grill better than the Charcoal Companion. Keeping the pork shoulder in one piece as it cools after cooking assures that you will have some nice moist pulled pork. Stainless steel make cleanup very easy. After the pork shoulder has sufficiently cooled, the Charcoal Companion works well to pull it into pulled pork for serving. You won't go wrong with this purchase!

Such a useful product. I would have loved the handles to be black not red though. An idea for future product development.

Bought for my sister, she loves them

As good at shredding meat as it is at making you feel like Wolverine.

Bought these as opposed to some of the cheaper products on offer as I thought they would be a nice birthday gift. However, rather disappointed when they arrived to find that the handles are very grubby with black marks on them. No time to return them as they came from the States and the birthday is looming, but at this price, I do not expect to receive a grubby product! Otherwise, the claws look sturdy.
