This size is not good for cucumbers(they grow too big). Jalapeños would possible work
Does what if is supposed to, but if you plan to use this for cucumbers it won't work(unless you have tiny cucumber plants). I tried it and it tried to break through the plastic. Also make sure to use all the plastic ties they give! (first time around, I only used about 6 and the cucumber started to bend the plastic!)Next year I want to try this one jalapeños!

Interesting
This is meant to be put on your cucumber or squash when it is still very small. When the pod grows, it will grow into a heart shape. It is very easy to affix, just put it around the desired fruit you wish to grow into a heart shape, and then tie it with the enclosed ties. As the fruit matures, simply reverse the process. It is too late in the season to try this until next year, so if it works as described, I will edit with an update. It will be interesting to have heart shaped dill pickles, or to have heart shaped cucumbers or small zucchinis to sell at the farmer's market.

not a great year for trying this out
The cucumbers didn't grow well in our area this summer, so we didn't get much chance to try this out. However, we're excited to use it next year. It's very lightweight. In addition to securing the top and bottom to each other with the enclosed ties, we'll need to loop one around the stem when it's still small enough to slip this on. We typically grow a variety that would grow bigger than what this would accomodate, so we'll be getting a slightly smaller variety for this purpose.
