With the new siding going up I wanted new lanterns to grace the sides of the garage and the doors. I was looking for something made of heavy unbendable metal. The last lantern purchased from a big box store was bendable and the finish corroded after a few years. I wanted an open bottom so that I didn't have dead bugs to clean out. I was dismayed in my search because I didn't recognize many of the brands featured on Amazon.Note well: Before you order these lanterns be sure to note the measurement of the back plate of this lantern that is provided by the manufacturer. The back plate of this lantern is larger than the standard, color matched lighting mounts that are offered in CertainTeed vinyl siding. In order to get a larger lighting mount for our siding - the contractor had to either special order the larger plate or we had to go with white. This didn't matter so much to me because we selected natural clay and the trim is white on the capping for the door frames.I selected this based on the quality which was evident in the photos and the recognizable brand, and the unique globe:1. This lantern is heavy and the metal is so thick and strong you cannot hand bend the hanging portion.unlike the cheaper thinner metals from discount.2. The matte bronze like finish on the metal is flawless - it is exactly as depicted on the photo. This finish clearly will not corrode in the elements. The seams on the bolts are well screwed in and they match the finish. The welds are solid with a clean finish on the faceplate.3. The simple ornamentation and seeded glass is absolutely beautiful and coordinates well with my Dutch colonial home.

very happy with my choice, matches house perfectly, adds richness and attractive on house. now must see how it with stands to weather conditions.

We ordered three of these, one for the front porch and two for either side of the garage. They are a matte finish rubbed bronze and the glass has a bit of a crackled appearance, but pretty subtle, which I prefer. They are a nice balance between looking classy but not looking outlandish on our home, a well maintained 1982 rambling ranch with nice landscaping. I was afraid they might look too big or too flashy for our brick exterior but they look fantastic! The bulb does show so we put a decorative candelabra bulb in each of the fixtures. Depending on how bright you want the light, you can adjust wattage accordingly. We have 40 watt bulbs on the garage lights and a 60 watt bulb in the fixture on the porch. They were also relatively simple to install with pretty straightforward instructions. My husband is fine with minor repairs but not a real handyman and he had no problems installing them. We are very pleased with this purchase, it was a great value as well!

Just came in today and installed them. They are well made units and look really nice.They come with the typical adjustable mounting bracket that screws to a standard single gang outlet or switch box, and I think it would fit a typical 'octagon' or round box, but I have had problems in the past with the same mounting bracket not being wide enough to meet the mounting holes of a round box.They did not come with 2 - #6-32 mounting screws to attach the mounting bracket to the box, so I had to dig around and find some, and I also used some small washers with the screws, as sometimes the slots on the mounting bracket will let the screws slide through. I also had to cut off the length of the screw studs that secure the actual fixture to the mounting bracket, as my boxes where set flush to the surface of the brick and they ended up sticking out past the front of the fixture and not securing the fixture tight to the wall, your mileage may vary...The included orange wire nuts are just OK, they work fine if you have a single 14 ga supply wiring coming into the box. If you have 2 wires that loop through the box, or you have 12 ga romex, then you're in trouble as the wire nuts won't be big enough and you'll have to dig around for yellow wire nuts or make a trip to the 'big orange box'.Both of the fixtures where slightly twisted, in the the globe portion was slightly out of plumb when the mounting base was plumb, so I just adjusted the mount to be out of plumb so the fixture would be straight, as I did not want to attempt to twist the fixture where it is attached to the small pipe tube and risk breaking it...

This was easy for my husband to install. We like the aesthetics and it is functional as well. It seems like good quality. It has been out for a couple of months and still looks brand new which I would expect for any decent light fixture. It is a substantial size which we like. I will be buying more for the front of the house. The price is fantastic!!

I am rebuilding a few older cabins and wanted something a little more rustic or older looking to fit the scenery. This was perfect for the porch ! Great quality , looks exactly like the picture . Works perfectly

*Have you ever visited a lighting store and suffered sticker shock when you happened to check the price tag?*The Westinghouse 6230600 New Haven One-Light Exterior Wall Lantern is Amazon bargain priced at 75% off retail for a designer "like" lamp.I needed four matching exterior wall lamps, not too big, not too small, and nothing outrageously ornate. This lamp is simply elegant.*It is really difficult to shop online for something this personal (taste) without actually looking at the physical object and picking it up in your hands.When my four oil rubbed finish lamps arrived from Amazon I was stunned at the fine detail and quality of the fixtures. I still find it hard to believe that I paid less for four fixtures than what a very similar looking single lamp fixture was priced in a lighting store.

Handyman installed this over my garage. It looks fabulous, very nice looking. It states that it is bronze,but it is actually black in colour, which is exactly what I was looking for.

It is a medium size light with no dusk to dawn function in it. Completely manual operation. otherwise nothing fancy and does its job outdoor in rain and shine both.

Look exactly as expected, well made, feel solid not cheap. Super easy to install.
