Timex Expedition Gallatin Solar Men's 44 mm Watch

Excellent watch, works perfectly and it's comfortable and looks good.

Secure in box with basic instructions, can download in-depth instructions from Timex website,discovered watch not fully charged after crown stopper removed,charge for 100 hours in normal house lighting & 2 mins in sunlight lasts for 2 months when fully charged up, would be handy if watch fully charged up prior to use.Watch seems sturdy,value for money but no battery charge indicator on watch (this would be handy) upon delivery charging via house lighting as outside no sun but very heavy rain outside.I am well pleased on the whole with the solar watch,found after manual instructions PDF for watch on Timex website can be charged 5 hours in sunlight & 2 mins per day as top up charge for example! But after a 5 HR charge as per instructions downloaded only ran for few hours so returned it!

Came with the box in "display" mode, with the watch exposed., which I did wonder about. The outer packaging was robust and well padded though. It did not work at first, and I had to stand it in the daylight for about half an hour before it began to work. This is not mentioned in the instructions. Now that it is all charged up, it is easy to read, accurate and rugged. Timex is a brand I have trusted for years, a much underrated brand and this watch does not disappoint.

I brought this watch as a replacement for work as my old one had taken an absolute battering. I work in a very physical field and more than one of my watches has come off worse for wear as a result, but so far this watch is standing up to the challenge more than admirably. Considering it's low cost (I only paid about £47 direct from Amazon EU) it has features such as solar power recharging, luminous hands, date function, pass through easy to use and very comfortable 22mm NATO strap, and is so far very accurate. I think the only thing this watch is missing is the indiglo feature, but this wasn't a deal breaker for me because if the face of the watch/luminous hands get exposed to enough sunlight they're easily readable in the dark. I've paired my watch with a small compass on the band and it's absolutely a perfect fit and doesn't interfere with the band on my wrist in the slightest. Watch us just ok. Nice design and solar works well, but the luminosity on the hands is terrible. From the photographs it looks like their should be some luminosity on the hour markers also, but there isn’t, so the watch face is really dark. I have a large list and the strap list was fine. Just really disappointed with the watch face.

Watch strap is rubbish, the pin is too short for the clasp and it falls off your wrist. Luckily i had a spare strap so swapped it over. The watch itself is good. It arrives with no charge so youll need to sit it under a bright lamp for a few hours to get it going. Due to watch strap i was going to return it as faulty as you shouldnt need to change the strap on a new watch!! If it holds a charge ok i might keep it.

This is a very attractive, extremely light (but still rugged and well-built), comfortable watch. Shockingly, the leather strap is actually made in the USA (by S.B. Foot Tanning Co. of Red Wing, Minnesota), although I very much doubt the rest of the watch is at this price point. The only thing holding this watch back from perfection is the lack of photoluminescent hour markings, only the hands glow in the dark.

acheté cette montre avant de partir pour un trip en Thaïlande. Elle a supporté les fortes températures, l'humidité et les chocs à scooter. La montre est légère, en matière plastique, solide, le bracelet en tissu est supportable malgré les fortes chaleur. Les aiguilles sont visibles dans l'obscurité bien qu'assez fines. C'est une chouette montre et solaire, pas de pile à changer.

Zegarek przyszedł w ładnym pudełku. Po wyjęciu wymagał podładowania, w tym celu wystawiłem go na półce ustawiając tarczą w kierunku okna. Po kilku godzinach mogłem już ustawić czas i właściwie od tego momentu nie wymagał regulacji. W trakcie noszenia ładuje się raczej samoczynnie. Jedynie gdy nie noszę go na ręce to pilnuję jedynie aby w ciągu dnia miał chociaż przez jakiś czas dostęp do światła z zewnątrz. Sam zegarek jest dla mnie wygodny i czytelny. Póki co nie zauważyłem śladów zużycia. Jestem zadowolony z zakupu.

Après presque une année d'usage quotidien, j'apprécie toujours cette montre légère et confortable. L'autonomie solaire est vraiment impressionnante mais je ne peux pas encore juger la durabilité de l'accu. Le bracelet velcro est finalement très agréable et solide.
