great introduction to making your own underwear
This book is a great introduction to making your own underwear. The instructions are clear and concise and the patterns easy to figure out. I've already made a couple pairs of cotton briefs.

I love the book
I have cut out a pair of panties and hope they fit. I was looking for a book for making panties from woven fabric and this book has what I was looking for.

Don’t buy this book
Please do not buy this book. The patterns included in this book aren’t even useable. In fact in the book it tells you to go to their website where they will have you pay money to get the actual size patterns so you can print them out. So misleading. Without the patterns, this book has no value.

Great book
They have some cute patterns to use. If you become a member on their page they will give you the full size patterns so you don’t have to try to blow up those ones in the book. I made two pair of underwear so far and love it.

Useless book
I bought the book for the different patterns, but the website it gives to download the patterns doesn’t even work. The book is useless without the patterns. Needless to say, I am not happy with this purchase.

Sizing not as listed
I haven't made any of the patterns, as it was intended as a gift, but feel misled by the description which said, "includes graded patterns for UK dress sizes 8-22". Only one of the six patterns goes up to a UK 22, another goes up to a size 20 but the remaining four stop at a size 18. My intended recipient would therefore need to grade up most of the patterns herself or only make one of the patterns out of the six. I bought this book because I thought all the patterns would go up to a 22. I have let the creators know and they said they'll look into altering the description on their website for clarity and informing their publisher who handles it on amazon. They responded promptly and offered something as a good will gesture. However, I still wanted this review to reflect the sizing issue until it has been updated, so other potential buyers are aware of it.Reflecting other reviewers I think that the included 50% patterns are a bit useless and I cannot see many people using these, but instead only using the PDF downloads. I'd have prefered a cheaper book that only used PDF downloads or included other content in place of the 50% patterns (perhaps something on altering the patterns for fit or suggestions on tweaks to make or "where to go next" such as trying trickier fabrics, for example), or a more expensive book that has full pattern sheets as most sewing books have. I know this before buying.ContentThere is a double page of information about the fabric mentioned at the start which seems like it would be helpful to a beginner. It mentions types of stretch fabric and stretch tests but doesn't describe them, which is a shame. Each pattern has a colour photo, description and list of supplies needed followed by instructions which are accompanied by illustrations that look fairly clear to follow. The patterns look fairly simple although perhaps not suitable for a complete beginner as it doesn't cover some of the basic things I knew I needed to be told when I first started sewing. Perhaps suitable for someone who has made one previous project? The final section has the 50% paper patterns with a link to download the PDF versions.Would I recommend it?I bought the book as a gift for a friend that sews that had said she'd stopped sewing at the moment as it was taking up too much space and she didn't have time for big projects. I thought this would be a good gift with small, simple patterns to get her back into sewing and bought it because I thought it went up to her size. Unfortunately, as mentioned above, most of the patterns would be too small for her. If they had fit them then I'd be happy giving this to someone as a small gift if I knew they hadn't already sewn a lot of underwear.I also sew and fit the sizing but wouldn't consider keeping the book for myself as there are similar patterns with PDF downloads online with just as good instructions, that are free. I am not a huge fan of the styles in the book. If I received this as a gift I think I'd be happy enough with it and would probably make one of them to try out some underwear skills, especially if accompanied by some printed PDF sheets for a pattern and/or some fabric or elastic.

So bad I sent it straight back
There are so many things I don’t like about this book that I very quickly decided to return it.* It’s so small - in size and number of pages. It’s more a booklet than a book.* The instructions aren’t clear at all. It’s so confusing and there aren’t enough diagrams to help.* There are only six styles, and yes I knew that before purchase but honestly they are all so similar it’s ridiculous, with the exception of the French knickers.* As others have mentioned, the patterns are so small it’s hard to get them to the right size. You can scan and then get it to enlarge during the printing process but there are two issues with this too 1) they are squished onto the tiny pages right up to the spine so this is difficult to get a good flat scan; 2) Some of the lines like the dotted ones are so feint they barely show up.* Think that you don’t need the patterns in the book because you can download full size patterns? Nope! You get redirected to another site where there is no sign of these patterns whatsoever, not even to pay for. They’re just not there.I feel really sad because some of the pics and finished items look nice but it just doesn’t deliver at all.

Link to printable patterns doesn’t work, waste of money
I was so excited to order and receive this book, I only had to wait 24 hours, in which time I got all my fabrics, elastic and trims ready to start sewing. A week later and I’m yet to even start a pair. The patterns in the book need blowing up to 200%, too big for a domestic/home printer, and when I tried to download the printable ones via the website listed in the book it wouldn't allow me to unless I paid another £10.99!!!! A complete waste of money, as you can’t actually make the knickers, wish I’d just bought a pattern instead

Was hoping for better
I have made knickers before with a pattern I cobbled together from an old pair of my knickers. I was wanting to expand my selection of underwear and so was looking for different styles of knicker.I am not totally disappointed with the book. As it has been said previously, it is more a thin book than a proper manual. 47 pages in total and that includes the patterns. It is well laid out with a list of items needed and a good photograph of the finished item. Some of the photographs show not very well made knickers but they are clear. You have to enlarge the patterns within the book. The website does not work and so you can not download the patterns off the web. There are only 4 patterns and not 6. Two patterns are just other basics with big ribbons added to the side.It would suit a total beginner but not someone with some little knowledge.

Knickers to sew book
I'm a beginner at sewing and bought this book as i thought it would be something simple to start with and practice great little book patterns seem easy to follow even for a total novice like me you can download the full size patterns from the website but you have to download and print 74 pages then cut them out and stick them together can't wait to have a try making some
