X XHtang Men's Ratchet Belt with Genuine Leather, Slide Belt for men 1 3/8 inches Wide

I desperately want to like this product, it has so much promise! However I can't seem to get it to perform its most basic function, it absolutely refused to remain latched. If I put any tension on it it immediately loosens itself about 2 notches, if I sit down it unlatches, if I bend over it unlatches. It simply won't remain closed so I don't think I can give it anything but one star. I REALLY wanted this product to work and I have no idea how it has such a good rating unless my particular product is just defective. If you want this purely as a decorative belt then I suppose this would be fine and given how it works I would expect it to last a while even though the materials aren't of very good quality. If you want something functional I would look for something else.

The buckle design was nice, the system is smooth and seems great. Very easy to use and stays in place.The belt material is a very poor quality. It is a very thin skin of 'leather', which has already begun deteriorating within less than 1 month. It makes the value of the purchase worthless, unless I want to buy another belt strap that matches the unique design of the buckle. And I have no idea if that belt strap will be durable for more than 1 month!? I was very excited with it... then very disappointed.

Updated 12/2019 - i have used both of my belts for more than two years now and not one has had any issues holding up over time. i have come to like the design even more than at first. this past year i got really sick and after i finally got better i had dropped just shy of 40 lbs. none of my clothes fit and this belt was the only thing i could adjust to still fit me. these IMHO are great!this is my second belt and for all the right reasons! used to have to go through my old belts to find one that would fit best with fluctuating weight. last Christmas i got one of these. after the first month i had donated every single one of those belts, just kept my the new ratchet belt. i cut that one to fit a bit smaller than i should have. so when i gained a couple pounds over these just past holidays it was just shy the length i wanted. so i happily ordered a second. this time i was more careful and cut the belt length a little longer just in case i need it on down the road. so now as i lose weight both fit. next year if i indulge too much, i am covered both figuratively and literally by my newest ratchet belt.as to quality my first one is now over a year old with zero defects or problems. i wore it regularly and got used to being able to get a comfortable fit every single time. this newest belt addition is just as good as the original. both in my estimation are perfectly designed. i could not be happier with both.

"Leather" belt is not leather. At first glance, it looks like the belt could be leather treated with a plastic topcoat, but when I trimmed it to size, I took apart the trimmed off piece and the "leather" stretched and contracted when I pulled on it after separating the layers. Whatever else is written here, this is not leather. If that's ok with you, buy one, but if you want leather, don't buy this belt.As to the belt and buckle, it seems like it would be ok as a functional item. The Buckle is larger and heavier than expected, but the mechanism seems to work ok. The size is fine, a bit wider than my old dress belt, but that's what I wanted.I would like to try this belt in actual leather, and may try a different brand. I suspect the click belts are generally synthetic, allowing the low price point. I chose this brand because of the good reviews, and am reluctant to try another brand with fewer and less positive reviews.

I've been using this belt for about 2 weeks now and absolutely love it! The belt itself seems to be a good quality. The buckle itself really amazes me as it looks great and feels like a very solid build. Expect it to be larger and deeper than a normal buckle as it has to do the ratcheting. I found long ago a belt will hurt my back as well as cause stomach problems so having a belt that is a quick release to lengthen when I sit, then really easy to tighten when I stand is simply awesome! I did find I needed to cut an inch off the belt, and that too was simple. Thus far, nothing negative to say!

The belt is long. But it should be. You are to cut it to length. Make sure you cut the flat end not the curved end.Cut a little and put it on. If you need to, take it off and cut it a little more and try it again. It's better to cut the belt 5 or 6 times than cut it two short and you have to give it a child. To look good, the curved part of the belt shouldn't stick past the buckle more than 1 to 2 inches.Test opening and closing the belt BEFORE you put it on. There is a small lever on the bottom of the belt buckle to unlock the ratcheting part of the belt. If you are wearing it you will not see the latch.

Discovered the ratchet belts while searching for a white belt to go with one of my golf outfits.Belt strap is very well made with some form of high density foam rubber as the inner core shape support which is sandwiched between two "seam sewn" synthetic leather outers.The belt it's self is very flexible and comfortable to wear, yet retains perfect retention when tightened.The Ratchet buckle is also well made with a very nice high luster surface that is further complimented by how heavy the piece is designed and made.Much more for your money than you would expect from just seeing it in pictures.This ingenious ratchet system is hands down the coolest feature to any belt I have ever owned, especially for the cost.The function is mechanically simple and makes so much sense I can't believe this wasn't the standard years ago!As for this seller, I was expecting the shipment to be a while due to the shipping info suggesting I would not see it till somewhere in between 2 weeks from now. Took roughly a week to get it in the mail box.I would definitely recommend this seller and these belts to anyone and plan to purchase several more since I know what to expect now.
