Not Your Typical Flea Treatment
I was first introduced to Capstar by my veterinarian. Capstar flea treatment for cats is unique compared to other typical flea treatments. It is not meant to be a treat once remedy that provides lasting protection against flea infestation. Instead, it is a fast acting medication that kills live fleas on cats and is intended to be used as-needed. It starts working quickly to provide almost immediate relief for your pet. Dosage is a single small pill which can be crushed up and mixed with your cat’s food. Once administered, within 20 minutes, you will notice that fleas are literally dying and falling off of your cat, leaving him/her free of infestation. If you have multiple cats, this provides a good method of killing off existing fleas all at once so that you can start other long-term treatments with a clean slate. Let’s face it, most flea collars simply cannot effectively treat a live flea infestation thoroughly. But coupled with a product like this, you can be sure that you’re starting off your long-term treatment with a minimal amount of surviving fleas, making it easier for the collar (or other treatment option) to maintain a flea free coat of fur. Each box of Capstar contains 6 tablets, suitable for cats from 2-25 lbs., that means it’s safe to use on kittens. It is safe to use as often as once per day, if needed. This is a unique product that works well at an affordable price. Highly recommended!

Instant Relief for Flea Infestations – A Must-Have for Pet Owners!
We recently tried the CAPSTAR (nitenpyram) Oral Flea Treatment for our pets, and it has been a game-changer in dealing with flea infestations. As a pet owner with multiple animals, flea treatments are essential, and this product provides fast, effective relief for our furry friends. Fast-Acting and Highly Effective What stands out about CAPSTAR is how quickly it works. After just a single dose, we saw immediate results. Within 30 minutes, fleas were dropping off our pets, and within a couple of hours, the infestation was significantly reduced. It’s perfect for those times when your pets need instant relief, especially if you’re dealing with an active flea problem. Safe and Easy to Administer This treatment is incredibly easy to give to our pets. The pills are small and can be given either directly or mixed with food. Both of our pets had no problem taking it, and it didn’t cause them any distress. The oral formula is safe and gentle, so we didn’t have to worry about harsh side effects. Works Quickly Between Other Treatments While this treatment doesn’t provide long-term flea prevention, it is an excellent quick-fix for an immediate infestation. It works well when paired with a monthly flea preventive to ensure your pets stay flea-free in the long run. It’s perfect for situations when you need fast relief before starting a longer-term flea prevention routine. Great Value for the Price For the results it delivers, the CAPSTAR Flea Treatment is a great value. It’s affordable and effective, especially for pet owners who are dealing with sudden flea issues. One dose is enough to take care of the problem, making it a practical option for those who need quick action. Final Verdict: A Must-Have for Fast Flea Relief If you’re looking for immediate, fast-acting flea relief for your pets, CAPSTAR Oral Flea Treatment is the product to choose. It’s effective, easy to administer, and works quickly to eliminate fleas, providing much-needed comfort for your pets. ✔ Pros: Fast-acting, easy to administer, effective, safe for pets ✘ Cons: Doesn’t provide long-term prevention (but works well with other treatments) Would I buy it again? Yes, especially for quick flea relief!

It works!!!
This stuff WORKS. You will need regular flea treatment after using this, but this helps if you have a flea infestation. I sometimes use this to make sure my indoor/outdoor cat stays free from fleas. I have two indoor cats and they get it just as much. It was a bit difficult at first because it is pill form and my oldest cat KNOWS if it's in her wet food. So I just had to put it in her mouth myself and it was okay. She looks at me in disgust, but it's worth it to not see any fleas. Definitely recommend!

The trick is getting it down.
works well once you get it IN them. Hiding it in food hasn't worked for me. they find it and leave it. If you think you're going to mash it up think again. They are hard as rocks. The bits go flying. Mash it plyers and too much is stuck on the plyers. Too expensive for that. Your only option is to dissolve them by soaking them over night and then mixing in some yummy canned or foil pouch type food. wish they were bigger and or softer. Even better flavored so the cat would just eat it.

Capstar Kills Fleas
Works like it promises. We rescue cats and kittens in a part of the country that is infested with fleas year round. The cats and kittens we care for usually arrive with dozens of fleas on them, even crawling down their faces. We can rely on Capstar to start killing within 30 minutes and keep on killing for 6 hours. The fleas drop off and the kitties experience immediate relief. So many dead fleas it looks like a crime scene. Wouldn’t have it any other way. Thanks Capstar.

Absolutely works.
Read the reviews for it and how fast it kills fleas. People posted pics of the dead fleas to show how many just fall off dead. It looked impressive. I was hopeful but thought, "right, but it won't do that for my cat, this must be the few people it worked for." After a few weeks I decided to give it a chance because I really, really didn't want to use shampoos or that stuff you put on the back of their neck. No joke, after twenty minutes I see my staring at something on my bed. I go over to look and it is a flea.....dying. WHAT!? So, I look around and see more of them all dying. I couldn't believe it. It actually worked. I was about 90/10 it wouldn't. Happy to be wrong. It works fast. They didn't fall off dead but they were dying and off my cat.

Disturbing adverse reaction in 1 of our 3 cats.
Our three cats have had fleas for a while. Attempts to rid them of fleas have not been effective. Twice daily fine toothed combings have collecting disturbing amounts of fleas. Topical treatments between the shoulder blades were also not as effective as we had hoped. With no adverse reactions appearing in any of the reviews, as well as, the advertisers claim that this treatment was safe for kittens- I purchased these tablets. Prior to administering the tablets we read the instructions on the outside of the box. (See image) About fifteen minutes after administering one tablet to each of our three cats- as if the fleas were attacking each cat at once- each cat began scratching and biting and licking at different parts of their bodies. This went on for quite a while. Then, one of our cats, our “Ragdoll, had an adverse reaction. He began to run around the apartment, to vocalize, to salivate, to have an increased heart rate, to tremble, to pant, to have difficulty breathing, & to salivate. It was disturbing to witness. I dialed the tn on the packaging, and surprisingly/thankfully we spoke to a representative by the name of Oz, she was calm, helpful, reassuring- wonderful- us? Not so much. After a few hours, as Oz, had advised, their symptoms diminished, and overnight all three appear to be back to normal. FYI, this morning, unbeknownst to us, yesterday, we discovered that there was an additional information sheet, literally, stuck to the inside of the box. And, lo and behold, there is an adverse reaction warning. (It does appear that the product worked effectively; however, according to the adverse reaction warning- have that cat carrier ready in case an emergency vet visit becomes necessary. Thanks, again Oz ! Addendum: The next day, Thurs. Mar. 28, 2024, right as I was finishing up this review, I received a call from Lindsay, another representative from Capstar, she was following up to verify whether or not our cats were ok- they were, and are. Thanks, again Lindsay !

This works for us
We've used this for multiple large cats. The fleas fall off almost immediately so have a towel on your lap if they are sitting on you. Our cats are indoor but sit on screen in porch so get reinfested. We have to use about every 3 weeks. It's better than the topical products for us. The cats are definitely more comfortable the next day.
