Tough, strong and well engineered
As I was in desperate need of a good heavy duty trowel, I started looking for one which would fill my needs. Our Ozarks dirt is misnamed as it should be called Ozark's clay, pebble and rock compound! Trowels do not hold up to this kind of dirt for very long without getting scratched in grooves that go to rust or the tips always getting bent backwards after prying out the small boulders that are encountered while planting. My brother did a review for this trowel and trusting sister that I am, decided to go for it. This is the Mack truck amongst trowels! It's heavy, very well made of the best of materials and is stainless steel! I just transplanted a couple dozen strawberry plants with it, both digging them up with roots intact and moving them to a weed free zone with amended dirt. This super little trowel cut through my ground with the greatest of ease and the well engineered end of the handle allowed me to use pressure on it and push it down as deep as plant's roots went. The end is curved around toward the back and is well padded so there was no stress to my hands while pushing.Of course, clean up is as important as purchasing the correct tool and I keep a five gallon bucket 3/4 full of play sand with a can of clean motor oil poured into it. This allows me to plunge my tools into it several times, coming out as clean as a whistle. An old rag finishes up the cleaning process while leaving a thin film of oil on the implement. As good as new. An excellent garden tool which I feel confident will last me through many gardening seasons.

Very Well Built!
At last! A quality digger that you can apply pressure to that will not bend or break. I admit, I am pretty tough on my gardening tools. This has come thru a very busy season digging thru clay soils and has handled all jobs perfectly. It has a longer handle than most and the handle is offset from the blade. This is a different design than the standard and works really well, more like a mini shovel, when you need to apply a little leverage. I thought it might be a little awkward, but I didn't even notice it when digging to plant bulbs. Very happy with this purchase and would highly recommend.

It's a mini-shovel
I wanted a hand held gardening trowel that could punch through roots and hit little rocks without breaking or cracking. This is one tough cookie. When I hit a golf ball sized rock I just jam this around it and pry the rock up and out. The handle looks like the weak point but it is in no way weak. No bending, cracks, nothing. The only "unfortunate" thing I can say it that there's no leeway like I've experienced with weaker trowels: I was digging up tulip bulbs the other day and inadvertently sliced right through some of them. Oops.If you want a tough-as-nails, single-handed shovel to use while on your knees, here she is.

It's a pretty nice garden trowel
It's a pretty nice garden trowel, and fairly sturdy too. the only thing that could be improved is that it could be a little narrower so that you can get into smaller / tighter spaces. Hard to beat really for the money though.

A Superb Trowel
This garden tool is well made and even looks good. There appears to be no flex in the shaft which bodes well for years of sturdy use. While I would have preferred a wooden handle, the plastic one on this trowel seems solid and is actually very comfy in the hand. All in all a good buy.

Good first impression
Arrived right on time, in great shape -- haven't used it yet, so take my review with a grain of salt, but it feels very substantial and comfortable. If I have problems with it, I'll revise, but for a first take it seems like a fine deal.

Mine were defective, and the company provide a no-hassle refund.
I purchased 2 of these. They were used in an area near the Atlantic Ocean. Within 24 hours of exposure to the salt air and soils, it was rusted and pitted. I sent a photo of the shovels to the manufacturer, and they promptly told me that my units were defective and provided a full refund.I have since purchased a 100% aluminum shovel in equal size and it is holding up perfectly. I understand that this is dipped in slainless steel. Note that there are many different grades of stainless steel, and some grades will not hold up against the salt environments near the ocean.

She thought this new one was so much better in every regard
Bought this for my mom to replace a worn out one she used. She thought this new one was so much better in every regard: from the handle and feel to the toughness of the trowel. It's brought the joy again when she's gardening.
