Great mono metal yo-yo!
I’m a relative beginner and this yo-yo is great. It helps me do my string tricks easily and works perfectly. It’s unresponsive, so be sure you know how to bind first. Very durable, great value.

Great 'next' yoyo
Don't let the fact that Duncan is an old company dissuade you from buying their yoyos. They may not be edgy and cool but their yoyos outperform most others at the same price. This is not a beginner yoyo. It's an unresponsive so you need to learn how to bind to get it to return. For beginners go with something like a Hornet. Once you are ready to go to the next level this is a great next yoyo. It's hefty but well balanced. It's angular so people who like organic shapes should keep that in mind. As for my self I got this after a Yoyo Factory Uppercut, which was about $10 more expensive, and found the Windrunner much more stable for doing tricks. In the 20-30 dollar range this is one of the best yoyos. It suffers when comparing to the 100 buck yoyos but for what it is, it's hard to beat.

Overall nice yoyo, slippery binds
The media could not be loaded. I was looking for a beater yoyo and I heard this one was good for the price point. It didn’t feel too heavy, felt pretty stable, I liked the design of the inner rim (good for thumb grinds), and the fingerspin dimple was nice for fingerspins. Overall just a nice looking yoyo. However, I did notice that the binds were a little bit slippery and wouldn’t bind every time, even with the yoyofactory 84 fat string. I know every yoyo is a little different and I am very much a novice, but I have no problems binding with my Duncan Grasshopper or Orbital.I really wanted to like it because I love Duncan’s pro yoyos, but I did end up returning it because of that. Maybe mine was a dud but I think I’d rather explore other options within the same price point like the Magic Yoyo V10.

This is not your Father's Duncan
Yeah, I am as old as your father and grew up with two kinds of yoyos- imperials and butterflys. I peaked on tricks, and wanted to get back into it after seeing kids do all sorts of string tricks on the Internet. Be forewarned- just because you buy an expert level yoyo, you will not automatically be yoyoing like an expert! When I first tried it, I got a little frustrated when I quickly learned why it is called nonresponsive. The yoyo will properly not come up no matter what you do to tug it. I read reviews about people breaking it by trying to tighten the bearing to try to get it to tug up. If you do not know what it means to bind a yoyo, you need to understand that this is designed to be used in a way that could be completely different from what you are used to.After a couple of days I learned how to use the yoyo and am happy to report the learning curve for string tricks is pretty steep. I am able to do tricks I only dreamed about and the challenge of getting better is back. The yoyo is a work of art. Form follows functions and this thing is made to spin forever and catch strings. I think is it amazing that you can buy a top-of-the-line piece of world-class equipment in a sport for only 30 bucks.

Super Fun Unresponsive Yo-Yo, Another Duncan Winner!
This is a really nice and smooth unresponsive yo-yo. Definitely a winner by Duncan. The V shaped design makes it comfortable in the hands, while the edges are slightly rounded so it's not sharp when you have the fast returns. The other benefit to the design is that it helps add additional weight to the outer rings, in addition to the double ring pattern in the cups, which make it very stable and help increase spin times easily without adding a lot of heft to the yoyo itself. It has a good weight to it, but also feels floaty at times, very unique throw. Would 100% recommend people give it a shot if they're interested!

The string won’t stay on there is a big gap where the string goes looked up a video to see if we were doing it right and this didn’t help . My opinion it’s a piece of trash

No directions and string doesn't come on it
The yoyo it self is pretty cool but the sting is horrible it didn't come with a loop and it came spit into 2 pieces at the end. Had to look up how to do it and the string still won't work.
