High tension, lower tuning and long life.
I've had these on my fretless since January and it's April when I wrote this. These strings have a high tension. I have the swing bass set on my jaguar bass and switching between the two(after a few weeks of playing the rounds) I get a bit more fatigued fingers. These strings have a long life span. I had the 105 set for over a year and they still played very well (to be expected from flats since there's not much sheen to lose) the 110 gauge e makes tuning down to d and even c# a bit smoother and less floppy. Only con I can think of is that getting used to them a bit tough on the hands. But once you are all other strings will be like butter. I'd recommend them to anyone.

Thundering Bass Stings
This is my first time using flat wound bass strings and there is indeed a noticeable difference. These strings have a very smooth feel allowing the fingers to glide up and down without the usual (screeching/squeaking) surface noise. Feels and sounds as if I'm playing a fretless bass. The most significant difference is the sound, these are definitely for players who prefer a deep, thudding bass sound akin to Jazz, Blues, Soul and Classic bass heavy Rock music e.g Led Zeppelin. While I do prefer bass strings with more of a piano sound, I no doubt can use these on a 2nd bass for my bluesier goth material.

I like flatwound compared to boomers and from what I remember ...
I wanted to try these out one reason cause Steve Harris uses them. They make a Steve Harris set and these are the same with a cheaper price. Check sizes I think they are identical but I have a 5 string and I wanted the thickest strings I could get when I bought these. You also have to buy the b string separate. What can I say I have used bass boomers, DR flatwound, rotosound nylon, and these. I like flatwound compared to boomers and from what I remember the DR were smoother but I couldn't find ones this thick in DR so these are good. As for sound, minus the nylon rotosound it's all on how you hit the string with metal ones and these are good for the price to me.

Great sound.
Great sounding flatwound string. Very deep lows without losing the high end. Really made an improvement on my American Jazz Bass. Good upgrade from Black Beauties.

Rotosound flatwounds awesome bass strings
There are a few different bass strings that I use, Rotosounds are one of my favorite strings. Once you play on these, you will not want to play on anything else. It gets rid of the fret noise. You can slide up and down the neck easy.

Lovely warm thumping tone, great feel, and fantastic value for money!
I bought these for my active Fender J-bass deluxe, as all my other basses except my fretless have roundwounds. I have to say that I just love the contrast in tone and playability I get from these strings on a fretted bass. The heavier gauge means you can get the action really low since the string tension is higher. And, when coupled with the insane ease of sliding up and down the fretboard on flatwound strings, you really can play fast licks and greater spans.Time will tell how these strings sound and perform in, say, 6 months' time - but I look after all my strings well (as should everyone!) by washing my hands before playing and wiping the strings down regularly with isopropyl alcohol, so I hope I'll get a good 18 months to 2 years out of them. It's great to be able to buy quality British strings, and at a very competitive price. Highly recommend!

Corde vecchie o tenute male.

Ottime corde.
