Our supplier has revolutionized a completely new and natural way of using reishi mushrooms to remove bitterness and acidity from raw coffee beans and create a great tasting less bitter, less acidic cup of coffee. Using high quality 100% Arabica beans grown at high elevation, the MycoSmoothTM process is applied to deliver a fuller bodied and has a more complex tasting flavor. The process is so effective that our Gourmet Reishi Coffee can be enjoyed black without the need to add sugar, cream or flavorings. You may see other products marketed as containing reishi mushrooms but they are either sachets (tea bags) of ground coffee and reishi mushroom flakes and delivers a bitter and acidic cup of coffee A third processed ingredient is typically added to mask the bitterness. Our supplier is the only company in the world that invented a proprietary process called MycoSmoothTM. The process is a fermentation method that uses mushrooms to selectively consume unwanted compounds in foods, while imbuing valuable nutrition back into the food source. The process takes seven to twenty-one days to complete and works well on dense foods. An independent lab study has verified the presence of beta-glucan compounds in our coffee.
