This is my second time using a stropping compound. I had a red ruby one that came free with some kit I bought that seemed to do nothing. This compound claimed .5 microns (not sure how accurate it is) BUT, I was able to shave hair EASILY after my sharpening routine finishing with this. Previously I ended on a 12000 grit shapton stone and didn't get it sharp as using this on a leather strop after.... very nice indeed. It should last a VERY long time I think.... at least a handful of months for 8$!

ROUGE WORKED VERY WELL ON POLISHED SURFACES.

The value is great and once you get these on your strop they work amazing! I’m not professional and loading a strop with compounds and so for me it was a little difficult to get it on the strop as I didn’t use any heat or oil to help. But with light heat or just patience you can load these compounds onto your leather and they work great! I like the package they come in, but it would be nice to see a touch more care with the product appearance in the package as there were a lot of little pieces of each compound stuck to each block which I had the go through all 3 blocks and lightly scrape off the small pieces of other colored compound on them. Other than that, great value and a great product.

This is my first time using this type of product, it does help with sharpening, I had good results in producing a smooth sharp edge. It goes a long ways should last a long time.
