Great for sipping and tasting
So first things first, you must know what this glass is intended for. This glass isn't for drinking whiskey. It's for tasting and sipping whiskey slowly. If you want to throw back a few drinks with big slurps of deliciousness, just use a rocks glass. This glass is not conducive to drinking quickly. It's meant for you to take slow sips while taking in the full aroma of the single malt scotch or bourbon or japanese whisky or whatever your brown drink of choice is. A few other reviewers have complained about its size and that you can't just throw drinks back with this. That entirely misses the point of this glass. Now, what this glas is intended for, it does it very well. This glass helps you truly taste your whiskey. This is for people who like and truly appreciate the way whiskey tastes. If you view bourbon as just a vehicle for getting a buzz, look elsewhere. If you view the buzz as a nice side effect of a truly magical tasting spirit, this is your glass. Until this glass, I always thought those professional whiskey tasters were making half the stuff they said up. But when I started drinking from this glass, I truly started to experience the complex flavors of truly top shelf bourbon and scotch and even the occasional japanese whiskey. I could taste the difference between the different scotch regions. It allowed me to become a connoisseur of whiskey as opposed to just a drinker of whiskey. Basically, the biggest secret is that it channels the aromas into your nose as you are drinking. Our sense of taste is just as much from our sense of smell as it is our tastebuds. With alcohol this is even more so, because alcohol dulls your taste buds pretty quickly. Meaning most of the flavor comes from smell. The second secret is that the design essentially controls the size of your sips to optimal level. for each sip, you basically want just enough to be able to lightly move it around in your mouth. Also, it tends to put the sip right on your tongue directly, which is preferred by whiskey tasters. It's also a really gorgeous glass that really displays the color of the drink well. It's very easy to hold in your hand as well, due to the way the bowl hits the base. If you've dropped a lot of money into a great scotch, bourbon or some other whiskey, this really is a great glass to help you truly appreciate it. If you want to drink beam and coke or even just swill your whiskey down at record pace, look elsewhere.

It really makes a difference
I'm a pretty skeptical guy. You know, the kind of guy who would normally point and laugh at people who think the type of glass you drink out can really make a significant difference. Well, this style of glass really does make a difference. I learned this recently after getting familiar with scotch served in this style of glass at a local drinking establishment and then being gifted a nice bottle of scotch for Christmas. I tried the scotch at home in a typical home drinking glass and it simply tasted dull by comparison. I realized the "nose" was missing (6 months ago, I wouldn't have believed it!) and that it was the style of glass that made the difference. If you are drinking quality scotches, bourbons, etc., you really should be drinking out of this style of glass to fully appreciate the fancy alcohol that you've dropped your money on. Put simply, alcoholic beverages give off vapors that are commonly referred to as the "nose". As you may recall learning in elementary school, your sense of smell makes up an incredibly amount of the perception of taste. You may have even done experiments back then where you pinch your nose shut and then eat a slice of orange to compare the difference. Whiskeys are complex beverages containing a wide variety of flavors and aromas. If you leave your sense of smell out, you are missing out on a large amount of the complexity that can't be sensed by the taste buds. The point of this style glass is to focus the vapors so that they hit your nose with full force. With quality liquor, this is a good thing. Keep in mind that these are called "tasting" glasses for a reason. You will want to fill the glass with about 2 oz of drink. This is roughly around the level of the widest diameter area of the glass. If you look at the picture of the glass on Amazon or on the box, it is filled to the proper level so you can go by this. The glass is 6 oz so this is only 1/3 full. If you fill it up to the top, you are missing the point. Likewise, if you down it like a shot, you are missing the point. Whiskeys are stronger alcohols than most people are accustomed with so you will need to experiment in order to consume the correct amount of liquid and vapor without taking too much to overwhelm yourself with the alcohol flavor and scent. Given that this glass is currently selling for about $10, it is in the no-brainer category. Honestly, try this glass for a couple of months and then try drinking out of something else. You'll notice the difference.

Truth, Justice, and some Bourbon
This may lack the delicacy of other reviews, but I can give honesty as a replacement. *Shipping The glass came wrapped in a TON of bubble wrap, so you can rest assured your glass will get to you in perfect shape, it took a combat knife to cut the thing out, as much as that was a hassle, at the same time I'm glad they went the extra mile to protect it, it also came on time. *Retail Box The box the glass is in, while bearing a few dings, is quite nice. It has a small history on the glass, and a nice section on one end about ways to get more enjoyment out of your drink, sort of like a small guide on how to smell it, taste it and etc. *The Glass itself The Glass itself is very pretty, there are no imperfections, the bottom is solid and not hollow, there's writing on the bottom of the glass that you don't really see that well till you pour your drink in, then it's slightly reflected through the glass when full. *Use I am finding that the glass does direct the smell of my Bourbon right into my nose, and it holds just the right amount for a good sipping session. Grand summery ~ It is just a glass overall, and I dislike snake oil salesmen, it is what it is. With that said though, it does what it's supposed to slightly better than the average glass, it's refined and is stunning to look at, goes the extra mile with the hidden writing on the bottom of the glass, and does tend to bring out the small scents of my Bourbon quite well, and holds just the right amount for a sipping session. This is one time I'll need to agree with all the good ratings, it's a solid, and well made glass, with all the right style points for the Scotch, and/or Whiskey/Bourbon drinker.

I'm not a big whiskey drinker, but upon using this glass, I guess it did bring out the flavours more in the smells and taste of the stuff. The glass is quite compact so I guess that helped in doing so.

Très beau verre , mais oui je parle au singulier car il n'y en a qu'un dans le carton contrairement a ce que précise le titre de l'annonce . Donc satisfait du verre mais déçu qu'il n'y en ai qu'un !
